TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #115: Full Spectrum Warrior Training w/ Rich Graham

I’ve had the opportunity to train with a lot of people over the years but one of my more recent learning experiences brought me to a Safariland event with the training outfit, Full Spectrum Warrior. Headed up by former Navy SEAL Rich Graham, Full Spectrum Warrior trains both civilian and military alike, and tends to focus on a broader range of complimentary skills, rather than just drills on the five-yard line. Today I wanted to bring Rich on to share a bit about himself, what got him into wanting to be a firearms trainer, and of course explain some of his methodology to us. There’s a lot to be learned in this podcast so if you’re looking for a few items to mull over and perhaps motivate you to get to the range, tune in for this week’s episode featuring Rich Graham of Full Spectrum Warrior!

Understanding Safariland's (Simple) Retention Leveling System

I recently had the opportunity to attend a special event put on by the Safariland Group down in Florida. Just about an hour or so north of Orlando in the middle of nowhere lies Deep Woods Ranch – the home of form Navy SEAL Rich Graham’s training facility Full Spectrum Warrior. Full Spectrum Warrior is a firearms training and consulting outfit that offers both public and private classes throughout the year with course topics ranging from leadership courses, to land navigation and even precision rifle and reconnaissance courses. Safariland’s main goal in bringing us out to the FSW facility was to provide a clear understanding of their retention levels, how they work, and what those extra levels of retention can provide the wearer in terms of both personal and firearm security. Today my aim is to pass along that understanding in the hopes that it’ll clear up some of the recent confusion surrounding the “retention leveling system” that many holster companies have started to adopt for their own active retention holsters. In the next article, we’ll talk about why these retention systems are important.

Strap 'Em In, Boys! NEW Safariland Solis Holsters for Glock G17 & G19

The Safariland Solis ALS Concealment OWB (Outside-the-Waistband) Holster is a simplistic-looking holster for gun owners, but it confidently falls into the universal category of “simple is best,” and the more hillbilly moniker of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Regardless of how you view a tried-n-true platform like the Safariland Solis, they are expanding their existing offerings to now include the ever-popular Glock G17 and G19.

The New IncogX Holster Can Now Host the P365 X-Macro

Months ago I was able to check out the Haley Strategic and Safariland IncogX. The new holster meant for the Glock 19 pistol originally, was always meant to have more fits and today Safariland has announced that the IncogX can now host the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro. The P365 X-Macro was introduced about a year ago and is the highest capacity evolution of the P365 lineup of micro-compact 9mm pistols. The IncogX is an updated version of the previous iteration of the original Incog IWB holster, with the new holster featuring a new suede outer coating, and an adjustable wedge for improved concealment.

TFB REVIEW: Safariland IncogX IWB Holster System – GLOCK 45 MOS

I was assured when I started carrying my guns in an appendix inside the waistband (AIWB) holster, that I would promptly shoot myself in a very important area. Four years later, I am happy to report that I remain completely intact and a moderate proponent of AIWB carry. My current AIWB holster for my GLOCK 45 MOS with RMR and a full-size SureFire X300 Ultra weapon light has been my favorite for more than a year. But today we are going to take a look at the new Safariland INCOGX IWB holster system, a collaboration with Haley Strategic Partners. How does the new Safariland INCOGX stack up? Let’s take a look.

The New Easy-to-Conceal OWB Solis Holster from Safariland

Safariland is probably most well known for catering almost exclusively to the Law Enforcement and Military market. However, it’s become clear in recent times that Safariland is taking an increased interest in providing everyday customers with products more suited to their lifestyle with firearms. That’s why Safariland is excited to announce their newest OWB holster – the easy-to-conceal Solis. I’ve had one of these little rigs for the last month or so and what’s great about the Solis is that it provides a lot of versatility for a customer who may only have the money for one holster, but wants to use it for everything ranging from ECD to possibly even competition shooting. The holster comes with a paddle-style attachment for your waist and belt, but in these photos, you’ll see I’ve adapted it for use on a battle belt for some recent range trips.
