Every now and then you see an image of something and it immediately makes you want it. Guess what, the image above is such an example, for me at least. It’s also a clear picture for TFB’s Photo Of The Day. The Wild Hog Field and Range Holster is ambidextrous and can be worn cross draw or with a forward cant. It’s made of top grain and center cut steer hide, and it has an adjustable tension device.
It is available for a large number of SAA revolvers, large frame DA revolvers, and numerous large autoloaders. It can fit belts up to 1 ¾” wide.

If you love to plink with rimfire revolvers there is a delicate line you must walk of affordability and quality. Without throwing any names under the bus, there are a few economy revolvers on the market I would stay away from because they are too cheap. One of the best ones dollar-for-dollar though is the Ruger Wrangler. We have extensively covered the Ruger Wrangler on TFB because of its popularity since its inception and also because of the many permutations of this wheelgun. One nostalgic looking one I lauded not long ago was a TALO Exclusive with hardwood grips and a cobalt Cerakote. That very version we got our hands on and will be taking a look at today!

Originally announced in April 2019, the Ruger Wrangler was offered in three distinct Cerakote colors: black, silver, and a very handsome burnt bronze. Well, the color options keep coming. Davidson’s has teamed up with Ruger once again, and has announced the new Davidson’s Exclusive Ruger Wrangler.

The Ruger Wrangler is an economical rimfire revolver that has been on the market for a little over a year now since its introduction in April 2019. Ruger has always been known for their single-action revolvers with their Single-Six and Vaquero lines, but they were never known for affordable single-action wheelguns. That all changed when the Ruger Wrangler was debuted and they began to attack a new entry-level category that is primarily occupied by Heritage Manufacturing and Traditions.
