True Austrian Love: First GLOCK G46 Glamour Shots
As a reminder, the elusive GLOCK G46 pistol with its rotating barrel and takedown slide-plate is only available to a small fraction of our readers. Specifically, the men and women who defend and protect the German State of Saxony– Anhalt. The rest of us, as the story goes, are in a persistent patience pattern, because GLOCK has no current plans to release the unique pistol to anyone outside of this one German State Police agency. But like my younger self, drooling over print magazines of off-road vehicles and select fire weapons, we can all dream, right?
New GLOCK 46 With Rotating Barrel Lockup for German Police Trials
A German gun magazine called DWJ reports that they had a chance to take a look at a new Glock 46 designed for German police trials. It is a 9x19mm Glock which looks to be a Gen5-based and compact size pistol. It gets even more interesting when you learn that the Glock 46 has a different locking mechanism. It still uses a short recoiling barrel, however, instead of the traditional Browning tilting barrel lockup seen in all Glock pistols, the Glock 46 uses a rotating barrel!
Mauser M2 Pistol: Interesting But Unpopular
The Mauser M2 is one of those strange firearms that managed to slip through the cracks in the early 2000’s. In this episode, Patrick takes a look at the strange striker fired gun that never seemed to take off. The M2 has some interesting and odd features like a striker deactivation lever, a rotating barrel, and even a rear mounted safety. Patrick discovers rather quickly exactly why a pistol with a world famous name flopped so badly.
Review: Grand Power K100 MK12
The Grand Power pistols have flown under the radar for some time but recently they came to my attention as a result of Polenar Tactical’s visit to the Grand Power factory in Slovakia that I have posted below. I started doing quite a bit of reading and settled on the standard K100 MK12 pistol. A few emails between Phil, Grand Power, and Eagle Imports I had a tracking number. Time to see if this unheard of to me polymer pistol lives up to the hype I had been running across.
