POTD: Republic of Korea Navy SEALs
The year 2022 started with a bang and lingers on, and our Photo Of The Day has never been so diversified. We’ve been from Novosibirsk, driven hunts to the Japanese jungle and we still have several months to go before the year is over. Today we have members of the Republic of Korea Navy Special Warfare Flotilla (UDT/SEAL) and United States Army Special Forces (Green Berets) performing a helocast and MOUT training during RIMPAC 2022.
POTD: Republic of Korea Marine Corps
TFB’s Photo Of The Day has become an impressive gallery, with an ever-growing number of images of firearms in all sorts of environments. Today we have a Marine with the Republic of Korea Marine Corps (above) as he posts security during an amphibious raid. The photo was taken during the exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022, the world’s largest international maritime exercise. I think the rifle is a Daewoo Precision Industries K1, but feel free to correct me in the comments section.
POTD: Australian Amphibious Raid
RIMPAC (Rim of the Pacific) is the world’s largest international maritime exercise, and the 2022 edition is the 28th exercise in the series that began in 1971. Above you can see Australian Army reconnaissance team members moving into their position during an amphibious raid as part of the Rim of the Pacific.
POTD: Rim Of The Pacific Snipers
Do you love photography? Without it, TFB and TFBTV, would not be the same. We have been running our very special Photo Of The Day for years, sharing great photos from around the world and the world of firearms onto the doorstep of the screen you’re looking at right now. It may be difficult to spot in these images, but the location is the Marine Corps Base in Hawaii. Above you see a scout sniper with Weapons Company, Battalion Land Team, 3d Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, Marine Air-Ground Task Force 7 (MAGFT-7), as he sights in on a target during a live-fire sniper range in support of Rim Of The Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022 exercise.
POTD: RIMPAC – Southern California Maritime Interdiction Training
The number of internet users worldwide will soon reach the 5-billion mark. The world has never been so connected. Great photos can spread like wildfire, but the story and the necessary context sometimes gets left behind. In TFB’s Photo Of The Day we will always accompany the images with a background and credits to the maker, in this case, Lt. Matthew Stroup. Today’s photos are taken in San Diego, CA, at the RIMPAC 2018 exercise. RIMPAC stands for Rim of the Pacific.
POTD: .50 Cal Multi-Utility Tactical Transport Vehicle
Today’s photo of the day is a blast from the recent past. It features Marines of Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines Regiment, with a Weaponized Multi-Utility Tactical Transport vehicle. The MUTT has been mounted with an M2 .50 calibre heavy machine gun (fitted with a blank adaptor). Which the USMC have described as “a multifunction force multiplier configured to persist, protect and project the small unit”. The photo was taken during July 2016 exercise for Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory Marine Air-Ground Task Force Integrated Experiment at Camp Pendleton, California.
