TFB Review: ANR Design's New Link Sling
Throughout my years of shooting, there’ve been a few things that people purchase a number of times before settling on the product that works best for them. Holsters are typically the item people think about but another shooting product that takes time to find are rifle slings as well. Throughout the years, I have gone through a number of slings and found a number of features I really like and some I dislike when it comes to a good rifle sling. The most recent purchase takes a number of features I like in slings and combined them into one modular unit. Let’s take a closer look at the ANR Design’s New Link Sling.
[TFB GUNFEST] Blue Force Gear Sling Class – After-Action Report
For many shooters, the simple rifle sling tends to be an oft-forgotten or somewhat ignored piece of kit. Although we typically have and use them, they don’t get paid nearly as much attention as flashier or pricier gear. Plenty of Gunternet dwellers can’t wait to Instagram fancy new optics, suppressors, plate carriers, night vision equipment, and the like, but the humble sling? Meh. Just slap a piece of fabric on the gun, casually drape it over your shoulder, and move on, right? Wrong. A well-designed, well-made, and properly set up sling can offer much greater benefit and functionality than first meets the eye. Would you be surprised if I told you it can actually improve your shooting? Many would be.
New GrovTec Slings
Grovtec, a company that was started by a group of former Uncle Mike’s employees, had a number of slings and holsters out today at SHOT. When I think of Uncle Mike’s – prior to its being sold – I think of the soft holster I was given as a gift when I bought my first handgun many years back, and after visiting Grovtec I have to say they seem to have not only harnessed the comforts of soft gear but they’ve improved upon it. Their products are well made, the team was friendly, and more than one item caught my eye. Here are two:
Vero Tactical Two-Point Adjustable Sling
Announced at the 2014 SHOT Show, Vero Vellini announced the company is now shipping the Vero Tactical Two-Point Adjustable Sling. The company claims the sling is extremely easy to adjust from a firing position to a high carry position. Additionally, the company states that there is enough flexibility in the adjustment that it can work with someone wearing only a thin shirt to someone with a full winter uniform with a plat carrier.
Magpul MS4 Sling Adds Push Button QD Goodness
Magpul has upgraded their iconic two-point/single-point sling to a new “MS4” specification. The MS4 is largely identical to the MS3 sling, but tosses the “paraclip” method of sling attachment in favor of push-button quick detach sling swivels.
