If you’re not yet running a secondary red dot sight on your long-range rifle, then you should definitely look at doing so. I use mine mainly for going from one target to another, and the further apart they are in side or height the more time you will save on the transition. Once the red dot is close enough to your target, you can just drop your eye into that sweet high-magnification of your main optic, and prepare the shot. Reptilia now has another drop-in upgrade for their AUS Mount, or the Geissele Super Precision 34mm optic mounts called ROF-90. The mount is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum and anodized in two different colors. The interface works with a number of optics from ⁣⁣Aimpoint, SIG Sauer, Vortex, Primary Arms and Holosun.

Reptilia Corp has a strong firearms industry pedigree, with some of their personnel carrying prior brand affiliations from a number of the top names in the business, such as Magpul and Crye Precision. They produce a spectrum of weapon accessories for a variety of platforms, including AR-15s, precision rifles, and more. In particular, they are probably best known for their optics mount components and integral M-LOK weapon light bodies. Nevada-based Reptilia Corp has been putting out firearms accessories like optics mounts and weaponlight mounts for over a decade, drawing on prior experience with companies like Magpul, SilencerCo, and others. Products like their dot mounts, RMR mounts, and light bodies have proven to be popular rifle add-ons. With a July 1st announcement, they have expanded to a new offering aimed at users of the Geissele 34mm Super Precision mount. The new ROF Diving Board enables shooters to add devices like laser rangefinders on top of their rifle scopes. Reptilia’s official product description is shared below.

Firearms accessories manufacturer Reptilia Corp have released a new long-gun light mount dubbed the TORCH. It is designed to tuck neatly under ATPIAL/PEQ-15 and similar top-rail devices, with a $119.95 MSRP. This machined aluminum mount weighs in at just under one ounce, and is made in the USA. It comes in either a right- or left-side 3V/CR123 version compatible with SureFire M300 scout bezels and tail caps. It currently comes in hardcoat anodized Flat Dark Earth, Black, and a contract-overrun “Tobacco” color. These are likely from an early attempt to match FDE which turned out slightly off from the intended tint. If you like the Tobacco model, you may want to jump on it quickly. Reptilia’s site indicates that these exist in limited numbers, and will not be made again once they are sold out.

It may seem counterintuitive to some shooters, but a backup reflex or red dot optic on top of a 1x variable optic does make sense. Competition shooters can transition between close and far targets without having take a hand off to move the magnification ring. Similarly, home defense setups can have optics with two zero distances. The Reptilia RMR mounting options give shooters the ability to put together the perfect setup for their intended uses. Reptilia Corp was founded by some guys who used to work at Magpul. One of them went onto AXTS and helped them re-brand into Radian Weapons before starting Reptilia Corp. Well now they have started their own company to make the products they wanted to make but were unable to due to logistics and other factors. They have come out with their CQG grip and DOT mount for starters.
