In today’s episode, we follow Miles to Shot Show 2018 Media Day at the Range and visit the UTAS booth.

UTAS-USA has launched a new limited edition of the XTR-12 competition shotgun being produced by their custom shop. Sadly, UTAS-USA’s press release offered near no information about the limited edition shotgun other than an MSRP of $1349, the fact that there are limited quantities and a short list of features.

In a recent press release, Sarsilmazand SAR-USA announced a partnership with UTAS-USA to import the SAR line of pistols. Why do we care? Because Salslimaz has built a really solid reputation for building the reasonably cheap but ultimately reliable SAR B6 and B6P pistols that were previously imported by EAA.

At the NRA Annual Meeting something caught my eye at the UTAS booth. I will be honest I am not a fan of the UTS-15 when it comes to bullpup shotguns. However UTAS has something relatively new that I missed at SHOT Show last January. It is their XTR-12. It is an AR styled shotgun. In fact I would not even bother calling it “AR Style” it is an AR shotgun.

The inexorable march of pink camouflage marches on. Its latest victim (er… “partner”) is UTAS who has implemented it on its UTAS bullpup shotgun. Its announcement includes the usual drivel of how “aggressive” the Muddy Girl Camo is on the UTAS “attitude” driven design. Ay carumba, can someone spare me the marketing-speak?

I got a sneak peak at UTAS new 12 gauge suppressor. It is designed and made by them.  No idea on price yet as these are the only two prototypes in existence. I was told that this suppressor can reduce shotgun report as low as 138 decibels.

Nicholas Chen had an opportunity to try shooting the UTAS UTS-15 shotgun, a competitor to the Kel-Tec KSG. The gun has a strange magazine design where the follower extends past the feeding port. The video is a little disjointed, but you will get the idea …

The UTAS UTS-15 shotgun holds 14 rounds in two side-by-side 7 round magazines. Unlike the Kel-Tec KSG, the shotgun is capable of feeding continuously from both magazines without manual intervention. The below video shows a 14 round magazine dump.
