Moving And Shooting At Night From a Vehicle
A local club, Pitcairn Monroeville Sportsman Center aka PMSC, hosted their 6th annual Zombie Dark Shoot this past week. I have participated in the past three years and staffed it for the first time this year. My first year was when I discovered the Poorman’s Night Vision.
Reactive Carboard Targets
An interesting product. The video is a bit old. December 2012 and stars Top Shot Bass Pro Shooter Chris Cheng.
People Defensive Shooting, a Czech Competition
Lidová Obranná Střelba, aka LOS, translates to People Defensive Shooting. It is a Czech shooting competition. It was started by the LEX Association. They are an association for the protection of rights for gun owners. They started LOS back in 2005. It is similar to IDPA where the shooter must conceal their firearm and shoot from cover.
Concealed Carry Superman Or So You Thought
William Barnes, over at Beretta Blog, posted about the misconceptions and trappings that many concealed carry people have or fall into. He talks about a 1980’s movie “Hero at Large” where the protagonist portrays a hero in a film and while off set he bungles a robbery. He continues to solve crimes until the day he gets shot. He realizes he was never invulnerable and reality sinks in.
USPSA Range Officer Cheating Scandal
Gun Nuts Media posted about a scandal regarding Paul Hendrix. He is a USPSA Area 6 RO. According to the Doodie Project Forums, they have been doing some detective work and are proving that Hendrix’s calls for stage times are grossly inaccurate. Hendrix is shaving off seconds for his friends and arbitrarily adding seconds to times of random shooters.
World Champion Pistol Shooter, Rob Leatham, Talks About Pistol Shooting
While at IWA, I had a chance to interview world champion pistol shooter Rob Leatham. Mr. Leatham has won the IPSC World Championship 5 times and the USPSA National Championship an incredible 24 times, among many other prestigious victories. He’s been described by Brian Enos as “the finest and most accomplished shot on the planet.”
Racking a Glock slide with one hand
This video shows a USPSA shooter load a Glock 35 and rack the slide with just one hand. He uses the inertia of the slide to rack it. It is very impressive.
