TFB Reader In France Uses 3D Printing To Modify An HK USC
TFB reader, Arnaud, from France, has used his industrial skills to modify an HK USC carbine with 3D printing. Rather than taking the American approach to modifying a USC to resemble an HK UMP, Arnaud chose to use a 3D printer to model the forearm, grip and stock partly after the Hera Arms aftermarket parts for the AR-15 pattern rifles. For those not wholly familiar with HK’s USC model, the factory grip and stock were not generally liked by the firearm community, especially when compared to the aesthetically pleasing folding stock of the UMP. The photo below is a stock HK USC from TFB’s Nick C’s post about the USC’s comeback.

As of June 11th, USC has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in a U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the District of Delaware. USC is most notably comprised of Ellett Brothers, formerly Acusport, and Jerry’s Sports Distributors.

The USC was canceled in 2013, but the rumors are true: H&K will be bringing back the USC in limited numbers.
H&K Discontinues USC Sales
As of this morning the H&K USC has been removed from the dealer price sheet, a followup confirmed with H&K that it is discontinued. As of this post date, it is still listed on the website. H&K has not confirmed yet if the weapon was discontinued in Germany, or is just no longer imported by H&K USA.
Converting a H&K USC into a UMP
The H&K USC carbine is the civilian version of the H&K UMP sub machine gun. The USC has a fixed Dragunov-style stock while the UMP has a folding stock and free standing pistol grip. Apparently you can convert a USC into a UMP. Les wrote to me saying …
