POTD: French Airborne .50 BMG Power – Hecate 2 Long-Range Rifle

He’s using a Remington Mk 21 Precision Sniper Rifle at the International Specialty Training Center (ISTC) Alpine Sniper Course, in Hochfilzen training area, Austria. The Alpine Sniper Course went on for two weeks and was designed to teach and train sniper teams the necessary skills to operate in mountainous terrain.

POTD: Mali – "Speak Softly & Carry A Big Stick"

Hille James Combat Photographer appears again in our Photo Of The Day, a welcome return. We’re used to seeing his great photos from Afghanistan, but this time he appears from an unexpected place: Mali, a landlocked country in the Saharan and Sahelian regions. Above we can see two Dutch Special Forces soldiers. The shooting position is rather unusual, but should still work quite well. With a good support, usually with the help of a good bipod, you can get far. If you add the support of a good spotter with a set of good binoculars, you’re all set.

POTD: Swedish Sniper with PSG 90B Rifle

The Swedish Army is looking for a New Multi-Caliber Sniper Weapon System, until then they are using the Accuracy International AI AW (PSG 90B) in 7.62×51 mm. The riflescope is usually a Schmidt & Bender 3-12×50 PMII. The Swedish rifle is the Arctic Warfare version of the British L96A1, and it was adopted in 1990.
