HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? 24K Magic or Fool's Gold?
Welcome everyone to the tenth edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you missed any one of our other articles, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this gat a sweet deal or only have fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.

With summer approaching that brings us warmer weather and new options to carry firearms! We might be rockin’ cargo shorts versus parkas, and we may be looking for smaller guns to be rockin’ as well. So as we begin May we have made it into our 7th edition of the Reader’s Choice Awards! For the month of May, we want you all to vote on the “BEST Compact Striker Fired Pistol.” We will later define for our voting what a Compact actually is in our eyes, but for now, we want to see a barrage of Comments, arguments, and possibly compliments to people’s suggestions of what is the “BEST Compact Striker Fired Pistol.”
[NRA 2019] Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P 380 Shield EZ M2.0
Smith & Wesson has announced a pretty dressed-up version of one of their most popular models by producing the Performance Center M&P 380 Shield EZ M2.0. There are 3 NEW versions of the M&P 380 Shield EZ M2.0 with Gold, Silver, and Black coated barrels. When many shooters upgrade or “pimp out” some of their favorite pistols some of the first things they do are change the barrel, trigger, and/or sights. Well, Smith & Wesson has beat the consumer to the proverbial punch by making the Performance Center M&P 380 Shield EZ M2.0 completely upgraded and finished right out of the box.

Here's Why I Think A Revolver In 10mm Is A Great Idea (Return Of The S&W 610)
The 610 is back! I’m a huge fan of The Centimeter and I also have a soft spot for Smith & Wesson revolvers. So I was excited when I found out that Smith & Wesson was bringing back the 610. The Model 610 is an N frame revolver chambered in 10mm Auto but it can also shoot .40 S&W. It’s been on again off again in production since 1990 and limited numbers were made so it’s always been a bit hard to get hold of.
TFB Review: Smith & Wesson Performance Center 629 Competitor .44 Magnum
Magnums are fun because they inspire so many reactions from people and they are all unique. Some people conjure up thoughts of Dirty Harry while others only think of recoil. Some others yet, like me, start theorizing what big-game animals we could potentially hunt. Regardless of the camp you fall in, a good magnum revolver will put a smile on anybody’s face. Especially one that is light enough to carry all day, can hit its target at distance, can knock-down big-game, and is not terribly punishing to shoot. In my mind, one wheelgun I believed that could potentially check all of those boxes was the Smith & Wesson Performance Center 629 Competitor .44 Magnum, and in this TFB Review we will see if my hypothesis holds true.

Reader's Choice BEST AR-15: POF P415 Edge 5.56 NATO
This was one of the most interesting Reader’s Choice polls we have conducted thus far! The voting results we received were close, but simultaneously the victor won by a landslide. The diversity of suggestions from you, our beloved readers, was very impressive as well. The thing that was consistent across the board is the caliber: 5.56 NATO/.223 Rem. We did state that you could suggest any caliber you want in an AR-15 platform if you had a good argument to back it, but no one even made an honest attempt. Clearly, the 5.56 NATO is your #1 cartridge and is not going anywhere (which is a surprise to nobody). How about some results though?! Your WINNER for March’s poll of Reader’s Choice BEST AR-15 is the POF P415 Edge 5.56 NATO!!! The full results from the voting can be read below:

Reader's Choice: Best AR-15 (Stock or Factory Model)
It is March, and we all know what that means… you need to grab a green beer, pretend to be Irish (if you already are not), turn on some March Madness college basketball, and get those taxes filed. To most of us, if you actually get money back from your taxes it is not a “tax refund” it is only more “gun money.” Let’s be serious, here. So for the 5th installment of the Reader’s Choice voting, we are going to look at something we maybe already have and may not need, but would gladly spend a tax return on. We are looking for your feedback and votes on the Best AR-15 in a stock or factory configuration. So for the entire month of March, we are asking you… What is the Best AR-15?
