Bullpup rifles are popular for a lot of reasons but getting your hands on one can be a financial nightmare as some of the most popular models of bullpup rifles and pistol caliber carbines can be pretty expensive. The META Tactical APEX-Series Carbine Conversion kit was showcased earlier this year at SHOT Show 2022 and claims to be the world’s first bullpup-style pistol-to-rifle conversion kit. The APEX-Series claims to be able to convert your Glock, Polymer80, or Smith & Wesson handgun from its normal pistol configuration, into a 16″ carbine on the fly.

Thanks for joining us on another TFB Wheelgun Wednesday, where we look at all things relating to revolvers. This week, we’ll take a look at Smith & Wesson’s Model 19 Carry Comp, which, as the catchy name implies, is built for carrying, and it has a compensation port that is designed to bleed off gases upward to keep the muzzle down and the sights on target. I wasn’t sure what to think about this model when it was first released, but a number of wheelgunny readers seemed to take a shine to it, so I was glad Smith & Wesson was able to loan me one to review for you.

I was sure that I was going to hate this pistol. Single action, a manual safety, an aluminum frame, and of course hammer-fired, all mean that I was solidly out of my comfort zone with Smith & Wesson’s new CSX 9mm carry pistol. What boomer asked for this nonsense? If you were to put an M&P Shield and a Colt Officer’s model in a hotel room, threw in a bottle of schnapps and walked away, this gun would probably be the end result. But despite my love of polymer, striker-fired, utilitarian pistols, it is very easy to love the CSX – it definitely is not my style, but it is sexy, fun, and capable. If you are a 1911 fan who has been looking for a pocket-sized carry pistol, welcome home. This is your gun.

In a bit of a recent gun-industry surprise, Smith & Wesson has just introduced the new CSX micro-compact pistol. The new metal-framed single-action pistol will initially come chambered in 9mm and will feature a unique aluminum alloy frame complete with ambidextrous controls and of course interchangeable backstraps as are popular with the M&P series of pistols. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes a look at the new Smith & Wesson M&P15 Tactical II. This is the first S&W AR to fully adopt the changes in the civilian AR market of the last 20 years. S&W is slow to change, but this rifle represents a strong endorsement of the modern 16″ mid-length gas, medium profile barrel setup. This is a very versatile rifle, but given the price point, it might be a little bit lacking out of the box.

Smith & Wesson has just announced an upgrade to the popular M&P9 M2.0 line of carry and duty pistols. With raised sights and the C.O.R.E. mounting plates, the upgraded M&P9 M2.0 is micro red dot sight (MRDS) optic-ready. Over three years ago, we announced that the Houston Police Department had approved slide-mounted optics for duty use. You read it right: Smith & Wesson is introducing the popular and proven M&P 2.0 series of pistols in 10mm. There are two models coming out the day this video is published, a 4″ barrel compact model and a slightly larger 4.6″ model. Both have a 15 round capacity and they are built on the M&P 45 ACP frame, meaning that most M&P 45 holsters and accessories will work. It also has a brand new trigger and comes optics ready from the factory – but how does it perform? Check out the video to find out.

In September Smith & Wesson announced they would be moving their headquarters to Tennessee. Last week they broke ground on their new site in Maryville, Tennessee. Smith & Wesson are expecting to invest $120 million in the project and from photographs shared on their social media, the occasion was marked by a significant event.
