BREAKING: Trijicon To Announce New RMR Model?

It looks like Trijicon is releasing a new RMR model that has been revised to addresses many of the concerns with the original model. It appears that the RMR Type 2 will retain all of the features that we know and love with the addition of some new ones as well as refinements that should make it an all around better optic.

Lightweight Scalarworks Mount for RMR

I have been a willing spectator (and participant at my day job) in the pursuit of reducing weight from firearms. Armed with billet, companies are using CNC machines and a bit of engineering to remove in many cases over 95% of the base billet into some truly unique products.

POTD: Jumping The Glock (Shark)

Looks like this was probably done as a joke. I see a rather tricked out Glock that appears to be done by Agency Arms. It has an RMR mounted to the slide and is holstered in a Crye Precision holster. The Glock has a threaded barrel with the Tuff Products railed muzzle brake. Nathan S. wrote an article about it.  Then they added an Aimpoint micro and angled foregrip.

Review: Suarez International L-Mount Trijicon RMR Red Dot Base

Gabe Suarez is a polarizing figure. Our readers will certainly have some institutional memory of him interacting in the comments, but polarizing figures do have a tendency to spark real conversation about tough issues and in this case, Gabe Suarez is certainly able to do that. He has been a long proponent of adding red-dot sights to handguns, a trend that is starting to gain solid traction in the tactical shooting community.

Dueck Defense Red Dot Back Up Sight Base

Dueck Defense, makers of the RTS angle back up irons, has made their version of a red dot adapter plate for Glocks. Their RBU (Red Dot Back Up) sight base drifts in place of the rear sight on the Glock slide. The sight base is machined to accommodate the more common mini red dots like RMR, Leupold Deltapoint, Burris and JPoint.

POTD: Battlecomped Glock

Alan Normandy, of Battlecomp, posted this Glock on Facebook. If you look closely, the slide has the Battlecomp logo engraved into it as well as forward slide serrations. The slide was milled for a RMR and suppressor sights were installed. The most interesting item is the repurposing of a Battlecomp muzzle brake to fit onto the threaded Glock barrel. I am curious to find out if this would actually help with muzzle climb or if it is just for looks.

BUIS Are Very Important

Mark Farage is no novice shooter. Mark checked the screws of his RMR to ensure they were properly torqued before he took a course with Ronin Combat Strategies. But during a 6 shot string drill, the screws flew off and so did his RMR. Without missing a beat, Mark managed to continue the drill with his BUIS and fired 6 shots in 1.78 secs.

A Day at Trijicon

Last Fall, I was invited by Trijicon to their writer event at their training facility just south of the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The morning session was mostly product presentation with a focus on the Trijicon ACOG family, the new battery powered reflex sights such as the RMR mini red-dot and the full size Trijicon SRS. We headed toward the range after a quick lunch.
