Depicted in today’s POTD is the prototype of a Trijicon RMR red dot sight guard that is being developed by Weapons Armament Research. This little device basically combines an RMR mounting plate and a front frame designed to protect the lens from damage.

While having the latest kit is great, having it positioned, batteries charged and accessible is just as important.  If you have not heard of the Make Ready Procedure then check out this article. Even when you are not on the range or in full kit, these concepts can and should be applied to daily carry procedures.

The Department of Defense has announced the award of an $8 million contract to the Michigan-based sight manufacturing company Trijicon for ‘handgun reflex sights’ on behalf of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane. The award fulfils the RFP to meet a specification for ‘Miniature Aiming Systems – Day Optic Sight’ posted back in September 2017. The sights are likely destined for SOCOM.

US Department of Defence has published on their website a contract award announcement telling about a US Navy contract awarded to Trijicon for delivery of handgun reflex sights. Although the model of the sight is not specified, I think it is safe to say that the subject of the contract is one of the Trijicon RMR red dot sights. Kydex holster and stealth makers ANR Design has come up with a new mount for the Trijicon RMR when on long guns. Branded the ANVL, the picatinny rail attachment incorporates both front and rear back up iron sights that cowitness in the lower third of the RMR. The mount is designed to be run forward on the rail, similar to the distance from the shooters eye when using pistol sights. The front sight post is adjustable for elevation.

Many new and improved products have been brought to market by Trijicon in the months leading up to SHOT 2018. Fans of the Trijicon HD iron sights will be happy to hear of the Trijicon HD XR night sights. The HD XR sights boast an expanded field of view and more precise targeting with the reduced size of the front sight (.122”) to nearly a third of the size of the original HD’s.

Jim of Burst Review was doing a test and familiarization of the TP9SFX with RMR mounted on it. He shot through 800 rounds of steel cased USA Forged 9mm by Winchester before realizing he was close to 1,000 rounds without any lube or cleaning. So he started filming.

So far we have added a KKM Barrel and a Raven Concealment Freya mag well to our Roland Special build, now comes the slide milling. The ONLY correct choice for a Roland Special is to send your stock slide off for some ATEi Glock slide milling. Doug has a way with these slides and has been widely accepted as one of the best, if not the best man to put a cutter on a slide.
