POTD: The POF-USA Phoenix 9mm Pistol
In the beginning of this year, TFB’s Nick C had a closer look at the POF-USA Phoenix PCC. For this Photo Of The Day, we have some photos where I think POF-USA really pushed it and produced some really interesting images of the Phoenix 9mm pistol. I have to admit I had forgotten all about it, which is a shame as I really like its looks and design. An 8″ barrel covered by a monolithic M-LOK handguard is pretty cool – and I want one now!
POF-USA Launches Rifles in 6mm Creedmoor
Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) has added 6mm Creedmoor as an option for their Prescott and Revolution semi-automatic models. They both use 22” barrels with 1:8 rifling, POF’s 3-port break, a 14.5” MMR handguard, a single-stage match trigger made by POF, and MFT pistol grip. The new 6mm Creedmoor Revolution (MSRP from $2,903) and Prescott (MSRP from $2,365) are available in bronze or black anodized finish.
POF-USA Founder and CEO Frank DeSomma Dies in Car Accident
Patriot Ordnance Factory, or POF-USA, started in Frank DeSomma’s garage in 2002. Over the last eighteen years he has grown the company to become an industry leader in piston-driven ARs and more. Tragically, on the way home from his office yesterday, June 18th, 2020, the 57-year-old entrepreneur and former aerospace engineer died in a car accident. Today, POF-USA shared the following message via their social media outlets.
Patriot Ordnance Factory MINUTEMAN Rifles and AR Pistols
Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) has announced the release of a new series of AR-15 pattern weapons called Minuteman. In POF-USA’s own words, the features seen in Minuteman rifles and pistols are “Everything a respectable rifle needs, and nothing it doesn’t“.
POF-USA Revolution Wins Rifle Of The Year For The 3rd Year In A Row
The POF-USA Revolution .308 AR10 patterned rifle has won the 2019 Rifle of the Year award from the Firearms Industry Choice Awards. Details on the announcement and the award can be found below.
[SHOT 2019] POF-USA's new rifles
Don’t you step on POF’s blue suede rifle. Well, it’s not really suede, but their new “Wonder” rifle has a lot of neat features, not least of which is a “Blue Titanium” colored upper and lower receiver. The Wonder’s standout features are the new “Strike Eagle charging handle, named for the eagle head semblance of the ambidextrous latches, the 3.5lb flat single stage trigger, and the new Micro B single port muzzle brake. According to POF, the new brake, though very compact, is nearly as effective in recoil reduction as their triple port brake. The Wonder is 6.18lbs, and comes in at $1599. The wonder also has a 14.5” rail covering its match grade nitrided and heat treated barrel. The gas system is carbine length.
[SHOT 2018] New Pistols from POF-USA
New from POF-USA are pistol versions of their small-frame .308 Revolution and their DI renegade. The new Revolution pistols in .308 feature a 12.5″ fluted barrel, buffer tube with brace and an 11.5″ handguard with M-lok. They are available in a black or NP3 finish. Weighing 6.9lbs, these new pistols also have sling attachment points fore, mid and aft and have a 3-prong flash hider to mitigate excessive flash from non-SBR optimized loads. MSRP is $2659.00. While expensive, I can personally attest to the build quality of current generation POF-USA products. They are accurate, reliable, easy to clean, and have excellent, durable finishes.
Another Victory for the POF Revolution: 2018 Golden Bullseye Award for Rifle of the Year
The POF USA Revolution compact .308 rifle continues to rack up awards, as it has been awarded the NRA American Rifleman Magazine’s 2018 Golden Bullseye award for Rifle of the Year. Just this past August , industry peers and professionals awarded the Revolution the 2017 Firearms Industry Choice Award for Rifle of the Year. Previously reviewed here at TFB, the Revolution is a relatively lightweight .308 AR-platform rifle that this author found to be accurate, pleasant to shoot, easy to clean, and 100% reliable throughout the review.

POF-USA’s press release follows:
Review: POF-USA Revolution: 7.62 Power in a 5.56 sized Package
In recent years, “compact” .308 AR-style rifles have come onto the scene. I say “AR-style” rather than AR10/SR25 being that the rifles I’m referring to are a blend of both, or in the case of the Colt 901, a system unto itself. The most widely known may be the DPMS GII series, but there are also offerings from higher quality manufacturers, one of the newer ones being from POF-USA: The Revolution. I must admit, I was pretty excited to see what POF-USA would bring to the table with their version of a compact .308 AR. Here are the quick facts on the Revolution from POF-USA
OPINION: I Joined The American Suppressor Association (And You Should Too)
I just righted a wrong that should have been fixed long ago. I joined the American Suppressor Association, an organization sponsored by industry, dealers and individual membership, dedicated to promoting the benefits of firearm silencers/suppressor ownership nationwide. So why is ASA membership so important now, even when it appears that we are entering a more politically-friendly firearm climate here in the United States? I’ll explain.
Gun Review: POF-USA Renegade+
I’ve had a little over a decade of experience with the M-16/AR-15 platform. My first introduction to the platform was a heavily beat-up M16A2 with a bent front sight post that I was unfortunate enough to draw from an armory. From there, my first AR-15 I ever purchased for myself had one of POF-USA’s first piston-driven P416 upper receivers. Despite the overly heavy rail cluster that I thought I needed back then, the gun was accurate and reliable. I always knew of POF as a piston-driven specialist, so I was surprised to receive a rifle to review from them that was direct impingement. For those of you wondering about the “+”, there is a base-level DI rifle called the Renegade, and the one I was reviewing was equipped with many extra features. I soon found out that, true to POF form, this was no ordinary DI rifle.
POF-USA New Renegade Rifle
I was talking with the good folks at POF-USA today and they told me of a new rifle they will be shipping in four weeks. It’s called the Renegade. They built this rifle after putting together customer request for these features.
POF-USA Puritan P15
Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) announced a new “entry level” short-stroke piston AR rifle called the P15 Puritan. The gun come equipped with Magpul furniture, a single stage trigger and a 1:8 16.5″ barrel. The total package weighs about 6.7 pounds.
