S&Tinc Shocker – Paintball Style Double Trigger
Stuff and Things Inc. (S&Tinc) is a designer and manufacturer of firearm upgrades. They are the ones behind the bullpup AK kit. Well, they have come out with something we saw over a decade ago, a paintball-styled double trigger for an AR-15 platform. S&Tinc calls it the Shocker.
[IWA 2022] Umarex's Glock Paintball and Air Pistols
Glocks are very popular, a statement that can earn someone the title of “Captain Obvious”. It is still true, though. So it should not come as a surprise to anyone that the German gunmaker Umarex is giving this pistol its very special attention and opening up the air pistol and paintball gun market. The company was licensed by Glock to make copies of the gun for various non-lethal uses. It started last year with a gas-gun version. Due to the enthusiastic acceptance and the great demand, it was decided to develop further variants. The next two copies, Glock paintball and air pistols, were presented at the IWA.
Glock 17 Gen5 T4E – The 1st Official Glock Umarex Paintball Marker
Umarex Airguns presents the first officially licensed Glock 17 Gen5 T4E paintball marker under the tagline “Paint. Compete. Perform.” It uses an 8-round magazine that holds .43 caliber paint or powderballs. The magazine also includes a 12-gram CO2 cartridge that can be changed without tools. Dimensions and operation of the Umarex marker are made to be very similar to the real thing, to help with routine handling and intuitive operation.
Selecter Versatile Defensive Weapon
Bryan S. sent me these pics of an odd defensive weapon. G-L Industries, in New Jersey, made this semi-automatic pistol for defense purposes. It is sort of predecessor to the paintball gun. It uses a CO2 cartridge for propulsion and is loaded by a 5 rd box magazine. It uses a variety of ammunition: stinger, noise, tear gas and fluorescent dye.
Singapore Police Non-Lethal AR
Singapore Police are getting new gadgets to deal with violent protestors and rioters. One of them is a non-lethal AR style rifle called the P4.1. Not exactly an iconic name. It sounds like a glorified paintball gun. According to a Channel News Asia article, the P4.1 can fire indelible paint rounds to mark certain rioters. The P4.1 can also shoot a projectile filled with Oleoresin Capsicum, with a similar effect as tear gas.
Morphfire: Convert A Paintball Marker Into An Airsoft Gun
The folks at Morphfire have developed an airsoft conversion kit for paintball guns. The Morphfire can be fitted to Spyder Fenix, Electra, Pilot, Sonix, Xtra, Victor, and Aggressor paintball markers manufactured after 2008. It fires .20 gram BBs at 550 fps with a cyclic rate of 900 rpm.
Less-lethal Launchers In Turkey
The Rogue Adventurer has written a post about the wide range of medium-calibre riot guns in use by Turkish police during the on-going protests. While most of the west took a ignore-them-until-they-get-bored approach to dealing with occupy protestors, Turkey is taking the opposite approach. They are using every less-lethal system they can get their hands on in an attempt to move the protestors, who are protesting because the government wants to turn a city park into a replica Ottoman-era military barracks (featuring a shopping mall on the lower floors … weird). One of the more interesting guns is the US-made Pepperball TAC-700, which is nothing more than a slightly modified Tippman paintball launcher (see above photo) that shoots CS, PAVA or dye filled .68 caliber paintballs.
3D Printed Handguard/Rail/Foregrip/Light Mount
Tonio emailed me these photos of a handguard for a Tippman paintball gun designed by a colleague of his and then printed on a Dimension Elite 3D Printer. The handguard incorporates three picatinny rails, an angled forgrip and a flashlight mount.
Paintball Marksmanship Competition
Former competitive shooter and gun dealer Deryk Walker moved to Taiwan and had to leave his guns back home. He found a substitute called Paintball Marksmanship Competition, a practical rifle-style competition using paintball markers instead of rifles.
Airsoft and paintball popular with Indonesian criminals
Indonesian police officers display confiscated arms during press conference in Jakarta, Indonesia on 30 December 2008. Indonesia police seized dozens of arms, 8,5 kilos of heroin, 1,5 tons of marijuana, and 16,000 methamphetamine pils in several operations in the end of the year. Indonesia has tightened security in the country ahead of the Christmas day and New Year Eve. Indonesia was hit by a series of major terrorist acts from 2000 to 2005, including the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005, hotel explosion in 2003 and the Australian embassy bombing in 2004, killing more than 250 people.
Veritas Mark IV
Gunpundit has spotted photos of the Veritas Mark IV in Denver. The Veritas Mark IV is a paintball/airgun gun that shoots .68 Caliber paintballs filled with a pepper spray type substance. The gun is patterned after and the same size as the M and accepts most AR-15 accessories.
Camo Paint Stencils
This company sell camo paint stencils for painting firearms. They also have lots of tips on using stencils, which are just as applicable to home made stencils.
