NEW GLOCK DAY! In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves meets with the gang at Lipsey’s to talk about their exclusive, retro, throwback Gen 1 Glock 17, the Glock 17 P80. The P80 is a faithful replication of the original Gen 1 Glock 17 that has been thoughtfully planned out, down to a resurrection of the “tupperware” box these guns used to come in. It seems like just yesterday that we were all pawing for scraps of details on the rumored fifth generation of GLOCKs finding their way into the holsters of U.S. law enforcement officers. We all knew that the finger groove-less pistols would eventually trickle into the civilian market, but the larger question of when that would happen was on the firearm community’s collective minds. Years later, local gun shops are now stocked with Gen 5 guns. But the functionally identical original handguns that started the madness – the FBI GLOCK 17M – remained a law enforcement exclusive. Until now.

Lipsey’s is now selling another set of Vickers Tactical Glock pistols. Presumably demand is high enough for pistols associated with Larry Vickers that the company is able to keep going back to that money well.

Ruger has introduced four new distributor exclusives available from AccuSport, Lipsey’s, and Gallery of Guns. The two new LCP finishes will come from Gallery of Guns featuring your choice of Kryptek Neptune camo on the frame or the eye-popping Kryptek Pontus camo. Moth pistols will feature a blued slide, black controls, and what appears to be color filled warnings on the frames. Both pistols will carry an MSRP of $309 making them a reasonable price option if you decide you need a pocket gun while scuba diving.

Next year (2009) Lipsey’s LLC is selling an exclusive line of Ruger Blackhawk Flattop 44 Special revolvers. Two models will be available, one with a 5.5″ barrel and another with a 4 5/8″ barrel.
