The New SOG Provider FX is the latest offering from SOG Knives in the fixed blade category. The Provider FX offers a balance of durability, sleek design, and overall size to give you a knife that can handle camping duty, self-defense, or even help you start processing your filled tags this fall. The new blade features a 3.75-inch 154CM steel blade for a balance of corrosion resistance, blade hardness, and ease of sharpening.

As with all other things, a high-quality knife usually comes with a high price tag. Your sub-$30 Big 5 sale knife will still cut, but not as sharply as the corners cut when it comes to durability, steel quality, and handle materials. Cold Steel has been a big name in the knife world for a long time, and their trusted name garners prices of at least a bill. To make their knives more attainable, or at least make you cry less when you beat them up, Cold Steel has introduced their Pro Lite series, made up of three new folders.

Cold Steel has just announced the addition of a new lightweight and affordable EDC folder line of knives. The new Verdict series of EDC folders feature several different color variations of the GFN handle, a 3-inch stainless steel blade, and the Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock system. In addition to these standard features, the Verdict will be available in several different popular point styles – all without serrations.

Langdon Tactical Technology is proud to announce a partnership with ShivWorks to offer Ernest Langdon’s personal choice for EDC knives – the ShivWorks Clinch Pick 2.0. The Clinch Pick 2.0 features a 2-5/8″ blade with a single edge made from very corrosion-resistant steel that can also hold an edge well throughout various daily cutting tasks. Fans of our YouTube channel will know that several TFB staff including TFBTV Executive Producer James Reeves often carry the Amtac Gear Northman fixed EDC blade. Amtac is well known for making some best flat ground cutting tools suitable for everything from opening boxes to defending yourself in a situation where a gun might not be the best choice. The new NorthmanX isn’t available yet but Amtac Blades has released a teaser for the new blade which should start shipping sometime in November of this year.

Cold Steel has just announced the release of a new and limited edition folding blade bearing the name and signature of Cold Steel Chief Instructor and President Lynn Thompson. The new Spartan Folder blade is a 4.5″ stainless steel fully serrated blade that takes elements from popular blade designs like the Kukri and is combined with a full-sized grip, and quality knife steel to provide collectors and knife nerds with a functional and collectible folding blade.

Announced earlier this year at SHOT Show 2022, Benchmade’s new 430BK Redoubt full-size knives are finally on sale and shipping to customers and distributors. Benchmade also markets this knife as a good option for self-defense.

Fixed blade knives seem to be back in vogue these days and I think that’s a good thing. The guys over at Tyrant Designs CNC have just announced their official presale for the new Tyrant Designs CNC (TDC) 001 and 002 knives. The new knives will both feature a 3-inch D2 tanto-point steel blade and what Tyrant Designs calls “beefy” linear locks with easy-to-use thumb studs. From what I can tell so far, the blades look to be quite stylish and have that telltale Tyrant Designs look to them with very angular shapes and flashy anodized highlights.
