Iver Johnson Arms, Inc. is now selling a zombie-themed 1911 pistol.  The Eagle LR Zombie is a .45 ACP handgun that has a special green and black slide and grip panels.  The handgun is essentially the same as the company’s other light rail equipped 1911.

Ruger made a limited number of SP101 revolvers for TALO that are quite a bit fancier than the normal production runs.  The SP101 Deluxe handguns feature intricate scrollwork on the frame, cylinder and barrel.

Barnes will introduce their new TAC-XPD line of all-copper defensive ammunition in 2013.

Dry fire practice is essential to honing in your skills, and it’s cheap too. While many of us dry fire with snap caps or an empty chamber, we know with semi-auto pistols we have to manually rack the action to reset the trigger. This can slow practice down.

Two 19 year old rob, armed with baseball bat and a handgun, rob an internet cafe. A 71 year old man pulls out his legal conceal carry handgun, fires at them and pursues them until they are out of the cafe. The cafe surveillance cameras captured the incident.

A lot of people, including one major pistol manufacturer, were upset with what I wrote yesterday about handgun hunting. I would like to clarify what I meant.

I am a gun chemical collector. I love buying and trying new solvents and oils. The more potent and foul smelling the better. What I don’t like is having that smell on me for the rest of the day. I also like to ensure I do not leave residual salts from my hands on firearms that have been put away for long or medium-term storage. Are you, like me, a latex glove addict? Or do you think I need to man up?

A YouTube user claims to have seen this unidentified gun at the range. I don’t know why a person would video someone else shooting a gun without asking what they were shooting. Maybe this is a hoax, a marketing stunt or just a blank firing pistol inside a DIY shell. Regardless, it looks cool.

I recently saw the movie In Time, written & directed by Andrew Niccol (Lord of War, Gattaca) and starring Justin Timberlake & Amanda Seyfried. Many of the characters carried in the movie used Glocks with shiny stainless-steel slides. Timberlake can be seen holding one of these Glocks in the promotional poster below.

Andrew shot high speed video to compare the relative recoil of the Kahr CW9, CW40 and CW45 pistols. The results are what I expected, but it is always interesting to see recoil compared scientifically.
