TFB Review: G.P.S "Handgunner" Shooting backpack
Go Outdoors Products is a Chino, California-based gear company that focuses on the shooting accessories and gear that make range trips that much more enjoyable and hassle free. The company has been around for a little while now, and much of their line of products has been out on the market, online, and in numerous gun stores across the nation and possible internationally too. So although they aren’t the next new awesome device or brand, they make products that in my opinion are very well thought out at the budget price you are getting them at.
Review: Glock 43 (G43) 9mm – Mousegun "Perfection"?
Is it too much to ask from a mouse gun to be at least 9mm, reliable, and shootable? Based on various other offerings on the market, it could be argued that the combination of the three was a tall order. Various weapons in .380 were good, but 9mm was a beast that the form factor had a hard time dealing with.
Grand Power Q100 Now Available in US
Described by the company as a “all-purpose gun,” Eagle Imports announced that the Grand Power Q100 handgun was now shipping to dealers in the United States of America.
BREAKING: GAO REJECTS Glock's Modular Handgun System Protest – IT'S OVER
It is finally official: The SIG P320 will definitely be the US Army’s next service handgun. Soon after the January announcement of SIG Sauer’s win of the half-billion-dollar MHS contract, gunmaker Glock filed a protest on the decision with the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The GAO had until Monday, June 5, to make a decision on whether to hold up the contract or allow the program to continue with procurement of the SIG handgun. Today, the news is out: The GAO has rejected Glock’s protest, and the MHS program can now move forward with procurement of the SIG M17, according to a story from Army Times.
More Color in the Smith & Wesson SD Line
The modern Smith & Wesson company has thrown its considerable weight behind the M&P line of polymer pistols. Frankly, the play seems to have been a good one as the original guns have been commercially successful and, in my experience, the new M2.0 guns are a nice improvement on the original.
Counterfeit or Copy? Darra Handguns
Previously we looked at examples of long guns out of the Pashtun gun-making village of Darra Adam Khel in the FATA region in Pakistan. In this episode, Miles looks at some of the handgun copies that have emerged from the cottage industries there. We compare Makarov and Beretta copies side by side, in addition to an odd Martini Henry contraption that has since been deactivated. Many of these copies are so well made that it would make most small arms enthusiasts think twice about which one is legitimate and which one was handmade. But most of all, the conditions that these are made in are sure to be admired as the gun-makers lack any of the amenities that most firearms manufacturers or even Western gunsmiths possess.

US Army Names First Unit to Receive M17 Modular Handgun System – 101st Airborne
The US Army has released the name of the unit which will be the first to receive the new M17 Modular Handgun System pistols produced by SIG Sauer, and that is none other than the legendary “tip of the spear”, the 101st Airborne stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Soldier Systems posted an article detailing the announcement, which also carries a promise that other units stationed at Fort Campbell will receive the new handguns early as well. From SoldierSystems.net:
Secret Guns: Fully Automatic .22, Hip Mounted Pistol, Suppressed M1 Carbine
Recently we’ve been looking at a number of high-profile developments that came out of Special Operations Executive. Namely the infamous Welrod and Welwyn suppressed devices, and the Norm and Welgun experimental submachine guns. In this video, we take a look at some of the much lesser-known developments of the spy organization during the Second World War. A fully automatic .22 LR Colt Woodsman that had an excessive rate of fire, a hip mounted handgun that was designed to be shot while the user had their hands in the air, some fascinating cover stories that allowed the gunmaker John Wilkes Brothers to modify and repair small arms for SOE, and finally a highly modified and integrally suppressed M1 Carbine. Some of these small arms armed the agents parachuting into Fortress Europe and across lands captured by Imperial Japan, while others barely left the drawing board and served more as experiments of curiosity. However, all of these weapons were indicative of a time when the Allies were willing to throw any amount of effort at even a half-baked idea that would get Hitler or Tojo to surrender their empires quicker.
Suarez International Debuts V5 Slide, .45 CCW Mag Well
Suarez International out of Arizona has released their latest Glock 17 slide, the V5. This slide improves upon previous Version of slides from the company and can be ordered with different optic cut outs. However, the base slide is meant for iron sights to be installed, which can be your factory Glock sights, or after-market versions. Some of the modifications made to the slide are mostly to do with tighter tolerances, using quality 17-4 aerospace steel in a Black Melonite finish, and custom cuts to the ejection port area that allows for better ejection processes. Essentially the slide is meant to be a match grade, out of the box ready modification to a standard Glock 17 that shooters can purchase.

IWI Releases Enhanced Jericho 941 PL at LAAD 2017
While at Latin America Aerospace and Defence 2017 (LAAD 2017), Israeli Weapon Industries released the latest in their line of Jericho handguns. The 9x19mm NATO/.40 S&W/.45 ACP Jericho 941 PL Enhanced handgun is a move towards bringing the Jericho into motion with numerous changes in recent modular pistol design. This includes a flattened polymer frame, interchangable backstraps, a rounded trigger guard, and more picatinny rail-estate on the forend. The 941 PL comes in two sizes, a full size and a compact version. So far the only difference between the two that we can tell is that the full size has one more picatinny cross section and might be somewhat longer in the grip. The handgun comes in Black, Green, and FDE. Offering this handgun in FDE appears to be a first in terms of finish FDE options for IWI as well.
Ruger Mark IV 22/45 – The Line Expansion Continues
It seems that Ruger is “all in” on the new Mark IV line of .22 pistols. I’m not surprised, but I am a little awestruck at how quickly the company is swapping over its entire catalog from the older Mark III to the new Mark IV.
Roland Specials go Sub-Compact with New TBRCi Micro Brake
Yes, the Glock 19 has been a smashing success for the concealed carry market, but its still far from what the “Perfection” that Glock tends to advertise. While its combination of form factor, barrel length, capacity, and size is basically the largest that one can easily concealed carry, the weapon is still ripe for additional perfection. Since its release, shooters have opted to add and refine the handgun.
Kruchin Takes it up a Notch…AGAIN!
In what is sure to top the current craze over making music with firearms, Russia’s IPSC Grand Master Vitaly Kruchin outdoes his own performance of taking musicians to the shooting range, by taking the shooting range to musicians! In this example, he is using .22 LR converted Glocks to engage multiple steel plates designed to sound differently when hit, in order to match a classical music piece from Austria. I can’t tell if this piece is more challenging than his previous performance while on a range but either way, both are amazing skills of marksmanship and competency with a firearm. However at that range with .22 LR rounds, I would be concerned with ricochets from bullets bouncing back. Although not entirely common, I’ve seen people get hit and I myself have gotten snagged by small pieces of ricochets from steel at very close ranges. I assume the proper safety precautions were taken in regards to bullets used to prevent such hazards. From RT–
