MasterPiece Arms Enhanced Vertical Grip
MasterPiece Arms has designed a new precision shooting grip for their BA rifle chassis. The new grip is called EVG which stands for Enhanced Vertical Grip. As the name implies, the grip is vertical in relation to the bore axis. It also features a large palm swell and extended rests for the trigger finger and for your thumb.

Recover Tactical's New Hi Power Grips
Recover Tactical posted a few pictures on their Facebook page of a prototype grip set that they’re working on for the Browning Hi Power pistol. Recover Tactical’s first product was their grip sets for the 1911. They’re a polymer composite two piece system that attaches to 1911s that don’t already have a rail giving the user the option to mount a weapons light or laser onto their 1911. Check out our review of the 1911 grips from last year. They’re super easy to install with no permanent mods done to your pistol, they’re made in Israel and come with a lifetime warranty from Recover Tactical.
Hogue's New HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves
Hogue is well known for making grips for handguns and other firearms accessories. Recently, the company announced a new product it calls the HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeve (HABGS).
Strike Industries and Accuracy Grip Company
Strike Industries is introducing a new style of AR-15 grip for shooters that would like some adjustability with their pistol grip. The new Accuracy Grip is a standard A2 style grip that has 10 replaceable panels allowing the shooter to fine tune where the pad of the finger lays on the trigger. These grips were done in cooperation with Accuracy Grip company.
The Flaw of Averages
How many people really are “average”? Is it possible to design a system to fit the average person, and if not, what’s the alternative? A recent article published on thestar.com examines this question, excerpting the work of L. Todd Rose from his recent book The End of Average. Rose’s narrative is somewhat massaged, but the central thesis about averages and their relationship (or lack thereof) to the individual user is well-developed and quite pertinent. We will explore these ideas through excerpts from the article, beginning with the one below:
New ShockStop System From Crimson Trace
Recoil. It’s an expected part of shooting firearms, so much so that many shooters begin anticipating it early on. And while it’s true that felt recoil depends on many factors from caliber to model of gun to the rounds being fired, it’s also true that handling said recoil depends entirely on the individual shooter. No two shooters are alike, and no two shooters have identical experiences even while using identical firearms. What may be simple for you to shoot proficiently may be a struggle for someone else – even someone with a certain level of basic experience – and vice versa. Crimson Trace is looking to improve the odds a shooter can handle felt recoil with their new product, the ShockStop System.
Hexmag AR15 Grip
Shoot outside of an air-conditioned range – especially here in Florida – and you’ll quickly discover the need for one of two things: gloves or texturing on every gun contact point. Maybe both! Sweaty hands and smooth polymer don’t play well together, which explains the popularity of textured magazines like the Hexmag.
Looks Grippy – Hogue Releases G10 "Magrip" Kits for 1911 Gov't Handguns
My hands hurt looking at these things, and that may be a good thing for those looking for the ultimate in grippy-ness from their handgun. Hogue has released their Magrip kits for the 1911 handgun with full-size frames, including the highly textured G10 grips seen in the title photograph.
New 3-Piece Furniture Kits From Hogue
Hogue, the company known for manufacturing everything from grips to stock to specialty knives, is coming out with new 3-piece furniture kits for ARs and M16s. The new kits include a beavertail grip, collapsible buttstock, and a free-floating rifle-length forend. Each piece is made with Hogue’s OverMolded rubber for durability and performance, and, as Ryder Jones, the Director of Sales and Marketing, said, “That makes for a cool, comfortable, great-looking, straight-shooting AR.”
Review: Recover Tactical CC3H Grip and HC11 Holster
Adding a light and/or laser to a handgun is a must for some, a much sought after option for others. While laser grips have been around for a long time, one usually had to opt for a railed firearm in order to accomplish mounting a light. If your handgun did not have an integral rail, there were some solutions, not all of them elegant. (I shudder to think of trigger guard mounted lasers I have installed for customers in the past). The next problem would be how to carry the gun once you placed a rail mounted light and/or laser on it. Recover Tactical has come up with a system that addresses both issues, and they were kind enough to send it over to me to try out.
Hogue Releases "LE" (Laser Enhanced) Grip for 1911's
As their press release implies: Hogue has finally gotten around to releasing a laser grip for 1911’s. Don’t get me wrong, Crimson Trace makes some great stuff, but Hogue just feels natural in the hand to me (played paintball with them on an Autococker still to this day). As such, I welcome the news.
Does Your 1911 Need a LEG?
Hogue announced it was now shipping the new Laser Enhanced Grip (LEG) for the 1911. The LEG is a replacement grip assembly that incorporates a red aiming laser, not unlike the Crimson Trace Laserguard line of aiming devices.
Magpul MOE SL Polymer Slim Line AR-15 Furniture
Magpul updated their MOE series of AR-15 furniture a few months ago. I have been using the new MOE SL furnitures on two of my AR-15 builds for a while now. This is a long term testing report of those. I have to say, the new MOE SL handguard, collapsible stock and grip are really good updates of the original MOE versions.
