Each day TFB publishes at least one image from the fascinating world of firearms and, sometimes, from the life of Special Forces. Along with this comes a brief explanation of what’s going on. In today’s Photo Of The Day, we have images from exercise Orion 2022 with one of the coolest off-road buggies I’ve seen in a while. Do you know the make of the vehicle?

The European Best Sniper Team Competition is over but continues to deliver amazing photos for TFB’s Photo Of The Day. The videos I’ve seen from this competition show some really difficult and demanding stages, to differentiate the teams from each other. Here we can see Greek snipers searching and engaging targets during the European Best Sniper Team Competition at Hohenfels, Germany, (Aug. 11, 2021).

Photo Of The Day and we bring ourselves to Greece, where Greek soldiers assigned to the 71st Air Mobile Brigade secure a wooded area alongside U.S. Army paratroopers assigned to Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade.

According to a Greek website called Via Diplomacy, the Hellenic Armed Forces will test the Adcor Defence Adcor A-556 Elite rifles to evaluate the possibility of adoption. They have signed an initial agreement with Adcor Defense and  Hellenic Defence Systems S.A. The former will provide six Adcor A-556 Elite rifles and the latter – 2,000 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition. The testing of the rifles will be conducted by the General Directorate for Defence Investments & Armaments of Ministry of National Defence of Greece.

According to Janes, Israel has donated 500 9mm Jericho pistols, along with ammunition, to the Hellenic Coast Guard.

This video shows an Hellenic Navy Rheinmetall Mk20 with S20 Naval Gun Mount firing in slow motion. Note how the barrel appears to recoil. At first glance it appears that the gun utilizes a short recoil action like the Rheinmetall MG3 and the MG42. It is actually gas operated but the whole barreled action is mounted on a recoiling platform in order to soften the recoil.

The latest video by TFB reader Aegeanhawk shows Hellenic Army National Guardsmen firing a pretty cool H&K G3A4 packed with a EOTech sight, forend rails (Brügger & Thomet rails?), bipod and foregrip. The setup looks really good.
