Remington, America’s oldest gun company, and also several of its newest, since the Freedom Group consolidation, had a massive presence at the 2016 SHOT Show. Its booth was seemingly an avatar incarnated of the true nature of the company itself: A conglomerate of multiple booths collected into one sprawling location, with distinct and sometimes disharmonious personalities.

Remington has announced major changes in its senior leadership, including the vacation of its chairman and CEO, and of other major board members. RECOIL Web reports:

Bloomberg.com reports here that the Freedom Group firearms companies, which were put up for sale last month by Cerberus, have a suitor with cash in hand. Taurus! It turns out that the Brazilian company is the second largest firearms manufacturer in the world in terms of revenue, below Smith and Wesson and above Sturm Ruger.

Reuters is reporting that Cerberus Capital Management will immediately begin selling The Freedom Group …

Scott Blackwell has been named the President of Freedom Group. Scott left Beretta USA in 2006 to become the President of Bushmaster and in 2010 was promoted to the position of FGI’s Chief Sales & Marketing Officer.

The WSJ reports that Cerberus is putting together an IPO for The Freedom Group. It is not hard to see why they are choosing to do it now. S&W (SWHC) is up about 150% and Ruger (RGR) is up just under 100% since January
