FNH has announced that they will be releasing compact models of their FNS line.
Custom Competition FNS-9mm
FNH USA had this customized FNS-9. They installed a Leupold Deltapoint, Leupold is one of the sponsors for Pro Team FN. They had the grip reduced and stippled. They also added a large compensator to an extended barrel.
5.7x28mm vs .22 WMR
Military Arms Channel takes a look at the 5.7x28mm round versus your standard .22 WMR bullet. He shoots them out of their respective pistols. A FNH Five Seven and a Kel-Tec PMR-30. He even uses a SBR PS90 for the test.
Awkward Shooting Positions at FNH 3Gun
At this year’s FNH 3Gun Championships, there are some stages that require some unfamiliar shooting positions to engage long range steel targets.
SCAR Optimized Alloy Magazine Release
Stryker Enterprises has a large mag release button for the SCAR-17S called S.O.A.M.R. (SCAR Optimized Alloy Mag Release). The factory release button is molded of polymer. Stryker made theirs out of machined aluminum and enlarged the button. It retails for $39.99.
Hunter "Nubbs" Cayll The No Handed Shooter
This guy is just amazing. Easybake Gunclub posted an article about Hunter aka “Nubbs”
Blue FNH SCAR16S
Not exaclty new but for those who don’t follow 3Gun, FNH has a one of a kind Blue Anodized SCAR 16S. I saw it during my first year staffing the 2012 FNH 3Gun Match at Peacemaker National Training Center. If you notice, the laser engraved markings are all there. So this upper receiver was not coated afterwards. I asked the owner how he has a Blue SCAR. He is an employee at FNH and he said he went to production, took one of the SCAR 16S uppers, before it was coated black or tan, and took it to the guys who were coating the SLP competition shotguns. He told them to coat this too. Then of course it went to laser engraving to have all the factory markings engraved.
Rare FN CAL 5.56 Select Fire
Jerry Miculek is at it again with the unicorn guns. This time he gets to try out a FN CAL. It is designed like the FAL but is chambered in 5.56. The selector switch is very interesting. It of course has safe, semi and full auto but it also has a 3 round burst. And according to Reed Knight, the FN CAL has a sort of “clock escapement mechanism” that resets the 3 round burst. So if the shooter lets off after the first or second round in a 3 round burst, the gun will reset it self to fire another 3 round burst at the next trigger pull.
Soldier Repairs HP Printer with Machine Gun
An old video that I discovered, a soldier was having issues with his HP Printer. HP wanted him to pay for their tech support. So he “fixes” the problem with his FN MAG.
Full Auto SCAR-H
In this video, FPSRussia gets his hands on a SCAR-H, the select fire version of the SCAR 17S. It’s rate of fire is a lot slower than I expected, it is still an impressive machine and is one of my bucket list guns to shoot in Full Auto. I would like to have seen the SCAR-H used on moving targets or at least in a stage where the shooter has to move. Kind of like what we see at Knob Creek.
Nutnfancy SCAR 17S Review
Nutnfancy finally does a table top review of my favorite gun, the SCAR 17S. Nothing really surprising to a SCAR 17S owner, the gun is accurate, not too heavy and costs a bit. However it is worth the money spent.
FNH FNS-9 Longslide
John Johnston of Ballistic Radio gave an update on shooting his FNS-9 longslide. Pretty impressive. 2201 shots fired and only 4 failures. One of the downsides to having something new? Not a lot of aftermarket support.
Socom 16 vs SCAR 17
Hickok45 takes a look at two .308 battle rifles. The Springfield Socom 16 and the SCAR 17.
When he compares the recoil, I concur. My SCAR17 recoil is so soft, it is like a smidgen higher than my AR-15 in .556.
