FourGuysGuns take a Suppressed SBR SCAR16S and bump fire it with a Magpul D60 drum mag feeding it. It is rather impressive the rate of fire they are getting out of this SCAR16S. I wonder what trigger they are running? Possibly a Geissele? I do not think you can get this rate of fire out of the factory trigger.

Part two of the FN America factory tour in Columbia, South Carolina would be the fun guns. The Columbia factory is where they make the M249SAW, M240B, and the MK19. As we walked throughout the factory floor, we could see batches of machine gun parts everywhere.

The latest country to seek an upgrade to their aging fleet of small arms is Pakistan, according to statements made last week by military officials from that country. The current Pakistani rifle suite consists of license-produced Heckler & Koch G3 rifles, and Chinese Type 56 rifles based on the Russian AK and AKM. From DefenseNews.com:

Fabryka Broni of Poland is eyeing more than just the 5.56mm market with its new MSBS rifle; the arms maker just announced a new, larger variant of the rifle chambered for the more powerful 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge, called MSBS-7.62. No, you won’t be seeing anything like an RPG, but maybe you can find something to break in at one of the new Gunsite classes coming in 2016 (yes, Gunsite does a lot more than just pistols). The guns launching the series are commercial versions of the M4 and M16, which were announced with the M249-S.

A small start up company by the name of Otto Arms LLC, appears to be unveiling an MP5 like retractable stock for the SCAR Light platform. I’ve tried getting in touch with them for more information, but haven’t gotten anything about it at this time, so I cannot even speculate on price. The company seems to have just started up in September, and apart from their stock and promotional women on their Facebook and Instagram pages, don’t have any other products or prototypes to show yet. Despite their lack of website infrastructure, their idea for a collapsible stock is certainly interesting, probably one of the few entrepreneurs outside of FN Herstal itself (on thier PDW variant) that is working on a retractable stock.

Dustin Ellerman, Winner of Top Shot Season 3, posted this video of his FNX Tactical. It had been sitting out in the Texas heat, and the polymer grip became pliable. I am not concerned about the grip, but the more important part of the frame, like the slide rails. If the frame is just as pliable as the grip, could the gun tear itself apart?

It seems that AK variants are gaining in popularity and gun manufacturers are making their versions. Such as Faxon Firearms ARAK and CMMG’s Mutant. Well Handl Defense is taking a crack at it. Handl Defense makes aluminum lowers for SCAR platforms. Their SCAR25 lower allows the use of AR10/SR25 magazines to be used with a SCAR 17S.

To achieve this impressive weight loss, they did not use exotic materials. Rather they removed material where they could and detaching the firing chamber from the barrel. Having an external firing chamber reduces the heat so the gun runs cooler and prevents rounds from cooking off.

Good news from the 2015 NRA Show for those looking to buy their first mil-spec AR-15. Fabrique Nationale has announced AR-15 rifles replicating in semi-automatic their M16A4 and M4 military rifles, coming in Fall of 2015. From the press release:

I got a chance to take a closer look at FNH’s new FNS Compact at the Great American Outdoor Show this past weekend. Just like their existing FNS pistols, the FNS compact is a striker fired polymer framed pistol. It has all the same features as the full size and long slide variants.

FNH had their elusive SCAR PDW on display at SHOT Show 2015.

Walking around SHOT Show, some things stand out and catch your eye. This all blue SCAR 16S stood out to me. At first glance I thought it was just custom Cerakoted SCAR. But upon looking closer, it is chambered in .300blk.
