Federal Premium has announced that their High Over All competition/target shotgun load series is getting bolstered with some more “sub-gauge” offerings. You can now choose from 12, 20, 28, and .410 Gauge selections in a variety of payload weights, velocities, and dram options which are in shot sizes #7.5, #8, #8.5 or #9. In all, the High Over All product line now consists of 31 total options for shooting enthusiasts to pick from.

If you’re looking for big hitting power from your little concealed carry pistol, Federal wants to help. The new Federal Premium .32 ACP Hydra-Shok Deep load is supposed to offer superior stopping capability from one of the oldest self-defense cartridges in the world.

Federal Premium Ammunition has a legacy of securing ammunition contracts for factions of the military and law enforcement groups across the globe, and they have further cemented that reputation by obtaining their latest Duty Ammo Contract with the Department of Homeland Security and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement for .223 Rem ammunition.

In a massive deal Vista Outdoor, the parent company to over 40 well known brands, is to sell off its sporting products business in a $1.91 billion deal with Czechoslovak Group. Czechoslovak Group is a major Czech Republic-based holding company which already controls brands across the arms, aerospace and manufacturing industries – including Fiocchi, Tatra, and Atrak.

With sparse options on the market today for ammo, it is great to see Federal bringing another choice to the market. We announced this round back at SHOT Show 2023, but it is finally available and shipping out nationwide!

The HammerDown series of ammunition by Federal Premium is one of the few lines of ammunition specifically engineered to ensure superior cycling and overall effectiveness for lever-action rifles. In 2020, the Federal first introduced the HammerDown line, which now encompasses a range of choices including 357 Mag., 44 Mag., 30-30 Win., 45-70 Government, and others. The latest addition to this collection is the HammerDown 444 Marlin, featuring a 270-grain load perfect for either states which require a straight-walled hunting cartridge, or just those looking to challenge themselves with a big-bore lever gun.

Those who compete with shotguns know that every load is just a little bit different when it comes to 12 gauge. While there is a litany of options out there for those looking to defend their home, hunt deer, or even shoot birds out to extreme distances, there are very few competition shotshell loads on the market which has led a few shooters to develop their own loads to work with their competition shotguns. There have been a handful of new 10mm handguns to hit the market recently, and along with that, Federal Ammunition is excited to announce the expansion of their popular Train + Protect line with their new 10mm Train + Protect 180-grain ammunition. Like other offerings in the Train and Protect line, the 10mm variety offers the customer a full power round that is suitable for defensive use but is also economical enough to be trained with on a more regular basis.

The United States Army has just awarded Federal Ammunition a new 5-year long contract worth $114,000,000 dollars. This new contract is meant to supply the United States Army with AA40 5.56mm Frangible Ammunition to be used for training purposes. Despite the recent adoption of the new M5 Spear and its .277 Fury cartridge, it seems the US Army still needs a healthy supply of 5.56mm ammunition for its inventory of carbines.

Two new load offerings have just been introduced by Federal Ammunition in the personal defense category including new HST 357 Magnum and 327 Federal Magnum. Both calibers have been popular choices for those who still choose to field a revolver for self-defense. Both new offerings will feature nickel-plated cases, specially engineered 104-grain, and 154-grain hollow point bullets, as well as high-performance primers for more consistent ignition. These new HST offerings join the ranks of other proven and popular self-defense loadings from federal including a 9mm Luger, 45 ACP, and the new 30 Super Carry.

Federal Ammunition has announced that the FBI has awarded them and Speer Ammunition in all four categories of its handgun ammunition bid – Service (Full Size), Service (Micro), Reduced-Lead Training, and Frangible. Three of these types of ammunition are manufactured in the Anoka, Minnesota facility. The other rounds will be made in Lewiston, Idaho.
