[SHOT 2022] The Retro Roundup
Retro guns have been undergoing a renaissance lately, with an increasing number of manufacturers offering firearms that appeal to more classic tastes. Many SHOT Show 2022 vendors displayed wares of interest for the carry handle gang or vintage enthusiasts, or just people who already have plenty of modern guns and just want something different.
[SHOT 2020] DSA's New Belgian FALO Heavy FAL and Israeli M4 Clones
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits with the guys at DSA to talk about their new Heavy FAL, a US-manufactured, spot-on clone of the Belgian FALO rifle (with a cameo from Ian of Forgotten Weapons). Also demo’d for this video is DSA’s Israeli clone M4 for those Tzahal enthusiasts out there.
TFBTV: DSA Israeli FAL "Hebrew Hammer" Review: Worth the Spend?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews DSA’s unusual new FALs – Israeli (or “Izzy”) FALs built on extremely rare Israeli Light FAL parts kit. These kits were uncommon, almost unheard-of, in the United States up until this point, so it was quite a surprise to see that DSA obtained enough parts kits to build Israeli light FAL rifles on new DSA upper receivers and barrels. So did DSA do this legendary classic right? James tells you today on TFBTV.
DSArms AR-15 Parts+Z Hawk Review
Having worked on antique firearms in the past, I really appreciate the modularity and ease of repair that modern firearms have. This is especially true in the case of the AR-15 platform. That being said, quality parts are needed when making repairs or modifications. Though I come from a gunsmithing background, I was not aware just how many high-quality AR-15 parts DSArms makes in-house nowadays. Better known for being masters of the FAL-platform, DSArms is no newcomer to the AR-15 game. When I had need of a duty rifle, the first AR-15 I ever purchased over a decade ago was a DSA ZM4 that featured a DSArms-made lower mated to a 1st-generation POF-USA piston upper. When I learned I would be testing some of DSArms’ parts and tools, I assumed there would be 3 or 4 parts in the box. To my surprise, I opened it up to find a smorgasbord of 34 parts plus 2 different versions of their combination axe/AR-15 armorer’s tool!
D.S. Arms Gets Booted From Comic-Con Over Missunderstanding
D.S. Arms, the well-known manufacturer of FAL and AR-15 rifles, was booted from Wizard World Comic-Con as a result of a misunderstanding and public pressure earlier this month. The gun manufacturer had already purchased the booth space and was all set up to display their line of replica weapons to sell to cosplayers as props when they were informed 40 minutes prior to the show that they would not be allowed to attend the show.

Titanium Parts Now From DS Arms
The “race to the bottom” in terms of AR weight has been heating up for quite some time, now hitting boil. Fantastic sub 5 lbs rifles are available from 2A Armament with other production manufacturers not too far behind. Lightweight components are now available from major OEMs including pencil barrels, lightweight carriers, carbon fiber handguards, and a multitude further.
Gun Review: DSA SA58 PARA Carbine
The FN FAL is one of the greatest battle rifles to have ever graced the Earth. It garnered a reputation for extreme reliability, durability, and user friendliness over its decades of service and one of the rifles biggest fans is our boss man Steve. His opinion of the rifle is, in my opinion, valid. The FAL is an incredibly sleek rifle that has lines reminiscent of a high performance car with its angled stock and swept back pistol grip. The classic lines of the “right arm of the free world” get my attention every time, so naturally when Phil told me I would be able to review one, I was as happy as could be. I got in touch with Mike F. at DSA who told me I could specify whatever I wanted and they would build it and ship it to me to demo. Now that has never actually happened before, so I did not want to ask for much. I simply stated that I have long arms and that I wanted a full length handguard, and that a folding stock would be cool.
