Home Depot Based 1911 look alike, "Kolt 380"

Clinton Westwood is no stranger to TFB, having been covered previously for different versions of his homemade barrel rifling tool, the first one slightly rough, and the second one much more refined. He has made a name for himself on Youtube through the various DIY firearms and devices that he produces from simple machines, tools, and materials that one could find at most hardware stores. The guy is extremely talented, and perhaps given a chance at working with a modern firearms manufacturer and a small budget, could probably do very well.

DIY Armor Plate Made of a Cookie Pan, Stones and a Book

A YouTube channel called 704 TACTICAL has published a video where the host of the channel makes a DIY body armor plate out of simple and cheap items found in Dollar Tree store. The video is right below:

LaRue Ultimate AR15 Upper Receiver

More than a dozen years ago, my entry into a high quality, free float AR15 rail system was from none other than Mark LaRue. At the time, there were only a small handful of of manufactures building rock solid rail platforms for ARs. And even though I have long since sold off that original upper for a lighter model, I am considering a return to a LaRue rail system for a future (hopefully) night vision setup. Adding to the available options, the Texas-based rifle maker is offering a new option – the LaRue Ultimate AR15 Upper Kit.

DIY barrel rifling using salt water, electricity and a 3D printed jig

Here are pictures of a preliminary setup for creating rifling grooves in a piece of steel tubing by using a 3D printed spiral insert, lots of salt water and a battery charger. Electrochemical Machining is a process whereby metal is removed by passing an electrical current through a solution, the insert in this case exposing the specific areas to be ‘cut’ during the process. The results are quite interesting and certainly open up some possibilities for homebuilders.

Easy Way to Dimple AR Barrels- EZ Accuracy's Simple Dimple Tool

While I will contend that one never needs to dimple for a gas block, I will respect those who choose to do so. I believe in freedom and if you want an unneeded, unnecessary step added to the construction of your boomstick, who am I to judge?

Hardware store zip guns

Pictured are two dirt simple improvised ‘zip guns’ seized by police which were the subject of an officer safety notice. The weapons have been constructed by screwing together standard pipe fittings which can be obtained for a total of around $5 at any local hardware store. Each gun consists of a length of copper pipe threaded on both ends, a brass hose nipple (which functions as a barrel), a length of wire rope attached to a makeshift firing pin, a compression spring, an end cap drilled in the center and a ring which serves as a charging handle for the striker assembly.

Homemade guns 'a concern' after police officer in South Korea killed during shootout

A police officer in Beong-dong, northern Seoul was shot and killed Wednesday during a standoff with a man (Seong Byung-dae, 45) who was also kitted up with body armor and had previously attacked a neighbor with a hammer. The firearm or multiple firearms used by the attacker were particularly crude homemade multi-barrel muzzle-loading weapons fabricated from pipes and held together using duct tape. These none the less proved to be lethal, officer Kim Chang-ho (54) succumbing to injuries sustained after a projectile penetrated his lung. His attacker was eventually apprehended after an hour long standoff. The weapons which were used are pictured below.
