DIY Gun Camera
The below video demonstrates a perfectly serviceable gun camera made using nothing but a sub-$10 video camera (available for around $10 or less on ebay), a rail mount and some velcro tape.
[Guest Post] Homemade tactical sights, and Brenneke-type Shotgun slugs [Part 7]
[ Y-Man, TFB’s resident Nigerian shotgunner, continues his series of guest articles about his quest to build the perfect shotgun. Being one of the lucky few in Africa to legally own a gun, he has to fabricate many parts and ammunition himself because supplies of gun parts are so limited. You can read Part 6 here. ]
6.5mm Arisaka chambered pistol
This pistol, chambered in 6.5x50mm Arisaka, was purportedly found in a South Vietnamese rice paddy. I cannot tell if the photo it is real or a fake. The front sight is far to low, unless there is a hole drilled into that metal block above the chamber.
If a Glock 20 and 29 had a child …
Brian used to own a Glock 29 (10mm Auto subcompact) and liked that he could conceal it easily but did not like the lower velocity, shorter sight radius or snappy recoil.
A DIY Submachine gun
A reader emailed me these photos of a homemade submachine gun built by man in Romania from the plans of Luty’s infamous book. It is chambered in .32 ACP and fires at a rate of 550 – 600 rpm.

Hiya there. Y-man again. Sorry I have been away for so long. I have been very busy and have been away from access to the internet for some time now. Sadly, I have been away from my beloved shotgun too!
Prison Guns
The below photo is of a double barrel pistol that was loaded with matchstick heads behind a steel bullet. I guess it would be fired using a lighter.
DIY AR-15 Lower Receiver tutorial
VaderSpade posted a very nifty tutorial on how to machine a AR-15 lower receiver.
Homemade 12 Gauge Revolver Shotgun
Over at EveryDayNoDayOff there is a discussion about this gigantic 12 gauge revolver confiscated from a Taiwanese man.
Homemade 9mm Pistol
This incredibably ugly (but in a good way) pistol uses Sten 9mm mag, an AK fire control group and a Luger barrel!
The Saga of the Nigerian Shotgun [ Part 3 ]
[ I recently posted a request for advice on behalf of Y-Man. He listened to the advice and made the following modifications to his shotgun. You can read the previous article in The Saga of the Nigerian Shotgun series here. This is a guest post was written by Y-Man. ]
The Liberator pistol
Designed to be as inexpensive as possible, assembled from mostly stamped sheet-metal parts, the Liberator was a single shot pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge the US military was using for standard handguns and submachine guns. It was so cheap that each one set the US government back only $2.40 in 1942 money. A million were made in less than three months during the darkest days of WWII, to be airdropped to Resistance fighters in enemy occupied territory.
[Guest Post] The Saga of the Nigerian Shotgun … Continued
[ This is a guest post is written by Y-Man. If you have been reading the blog over the past year you will have seen the incredible ingenuity he has demonstrated in Nigeria, where there exist severe restrictions on guns and ammunition. His previous exploits include Turning Birdshot into Slugs for Self-Defense and Fabricating a Shotgun Stock. ]
