Parker Mountain Machine Ultra Compensator For The 10mm FN 510
Parker Mountain Machine, delving into the finer aspects of component development to manufacture useful solutions for some of our favorite firearm platforms, is at it again, this time with the PMM Ultra Compensator for the FN 510. Let’s take a closer look at how this new compensator is taking the sting out of the 10mm cartridge that had a particular three-letter agency crying the recoil blues.
The New Hellcat Pro Threaded Barrel from Springfield Armory
The Hellcat and Hellcat Pro from Springfield Armory are some of the most popular models of micro-compact pistols currently on the market. Despite these handguns performing quite well and being highly reviewed across the board, shooters are always looking for ways to tinker with their guns, and to make that easier Springfield Amory has just introduced the new Hellcat Pro threaded barrel – a simple drop-in replacement to allow the attachment of suppressors, and compensators.
TFB Review: The Strike Threaded Barrel and Micro Threaded Compensator
The laws of physics can be so annoying. As much as we’d like to be perfect shooters every time, there are universal rules that we fight against. A great example of this is recoil. Isaac Newton famously wrote, “To every action, there is always opposed an equal reaction.” As the bullet leaves the barrel, it’s our job to tame the reaction. Compensators were designed to help combat this. If you look at the guns used by high-level Open Division shooters, you’ll notice the lack of muzzle flip. This is thanks to solid fundamentals, as well as mechanical advantages like comps. Today, we’ll be looking at the Strike Industries compensation system, which consists of their Strike Threaded Barrel and Strike Micro Threaded Comp.
Wheelgun Wednesday: Empire KAGE for Colt Python
Do you have a Colt Python but want something to modernize and tame some of its recoil and muzzle climb? Well, Empire has made a KAGE for the Colt Python. It is a rail system and compensator for the infamous revolver.
The P320 Perfect Fit PROComp from Backup Tactical
Backup Tactical is going to have several new products coming out in early 2023 including their first of the year – the new SIG P320 Perfect Fit PROComp lineup. [SHOT 2023] New Shadow Systems CR920P, DR920L, And Compensator
Shadow Systems showed off a few new models of 9mm pistols at Industry Day at the Range 2023. Their pistols share quite a bit of DNA with Glocks, but add features more often associated with custom modifications.
Faxon Firearms Expands the EXOS Pistol Compensator Line
Compensators used to be something you’d only ever find on competition-oriented guns. It seems as the concealed carry community has grown, however, more and more people are opting to train and carry pistols with compensators on them. It is for this reason that Faxon Firearms has developed and added three brand new options to their growing EXOS pistol compensator lineup to include compatibility with some of the newest modern concealed carry handguns on the market.
[SHOT 2022] Radian Releases Ramjet (and Afterburner)
I have to admit to being a bit of a Radian fanboy. The Raptor charging handle is second to none in my opinion, and I have one in each of my ARs at home. It looks like there might be two more Radian products coming to my personal guns, the Ramjet barrel, and Afterburner micro-compensator.
Concealed Carry Corner: Carry Gun Accessories Guide Part 2
In last week’s article, I talked about a number of accessories for carrying a concealed firearm – aftermarket sights, slide cuts and adding red dots to your handgun. If you haven’t checked out the first part of this guide, feel free to check it out by clicking here. There’s a number of both good and bad upgrades you can do so let’s keep this train rolling with a few more accessories you should either consider or steer clear from. Let’s dive into part 2 of the carry gun accessories guide.
New Radian Afterburner Micro Compensator and Ramjet Barrel
Built for the Glock 19 series of pistols, the new Radian Afterburner compensator and Ramjet barrel have just been announced. The new ported barrel and micro compensator are meant to improve performance and also aid in holstering. The Radian Afterburner is now also one of the smallest pistol compensators on the market. The Afterburner micro compensator will be available for Glock 19 pistols generation 3 through 5 and the Ramjet barrel will feature the same compatibility.
Hiperfire Introduces Hipercomp Next Gen Recoil Compensators
Recoil compensators are nothing new for Hiperfire. Although the company specializes in drop-in aftermarket triggers, they have previously released their popular Generation 1 recoil compensators which rivaled some of the best performing compensators already in the industry. The Hipercomp 556C, 556CQ, and 9mm versions were among their most popular. Hiperfire has since then taken a new approach using modern computational models to produce their Hipercomp Next Gen recoil compensators that are not only more effective but less expensive as well.
TFB Review: The Hellcat RDP from Springfield Armory
Springfield Armory is a storied name. Its lineage stretches back to America’s early days, more than two centuries before the genesis of today’s Hellcat pistol. The original version of Springfield Armory was a military weapons storage facility in Massachusetts, ordered by George Washington in 1777. In 1795, they added arms production capability for the fledgling nation’s armed forces, and this practice continued for 173 years. After the facility ceased operations in 1968 and was subsequently declared a National Historic Site, a small gunmaker in Texas began using the name to take advantage of its notoriety. In 1974, the L. H. Gun Company officially became Springfield Armory, Inc. and moved to Illinois. Though the name is the only thing they substantively share in common, the modern private company gives a nod to the historic military armory’s legacy by wearing it.
Ultradyne Introduces the New Mercury Compensator
Recoil reduction and muzzle control are top considerations for today’s competitors and riflemen. While good training and discipline will help mitigate a lot of the muzzle rise and swat you get from firing an AR-15, compensators help further mitigate both felt recoil and muzzle rise. Ultradyne has just released their new Mercury Compensator which uses Ultradyne’s V-PORT system. The aim of the Mercury compensator is to optimize gas exhaust to primarily control muzzle rise while simultaneously reducing a large amount of felt recoil.
ZEV Technologies Releases New Glock, SIG, and AR-15 Accessories
ZEV Technologies specializes in high-end aftermarket accessories and products for Glock handguns and AR-15 rifles. The company has just introduced three new products – the ZMD Muzzle Device for AR-15s, V2 Pro Comp for Gen 5 Glocks, and the ZEV Extended mag release for the SIG Sauer P365 and P320 pistols.
A Gucci Glock Goes to War with Top US General in Afghanistan
General Austin Scott Miller is a warfighter who knows a thing or two about firearms, and has previously been noted for preferring a 1911 over the Army’s recently-retired standard-issue sidearm, the M9. Now the former Delta operator has been seen carrying a modified Glock in Afghanistan, rather than the current M17/ M18 handguns that have been chosen to replace the aging Beretta service pistol. Of particular interest is that this is no stock Glock, as some Special Operations personnel have been authorized to use in the past. The General’s gun features some auspicious modernizations commonly associated with high-end handguns, often meant for competition. In these photos, you can see Miller is employing a red-dot optic, a mag extension, and a compensator added to the gun’s muzzle. It’s not clear whether his holster is concealing the weaponlight that would be needed to qualify the pistol as a full-blown Roland Special-style sidearm, but given the General‘s other accessory choices, it would not be surprising if this was the case.
