Install a Buffer Tube With the Right Tools – TFB Modification Minute
You know that awesome stock you have been eyeing? That one that only comes in Mil-Spec diameter, but your rifle has a commercial diameter buffer tube? This week’s Modification Minute tackles that very problem by replacing the factory commercial buffer tube with a high-quality Brownells Mil-Spec buffer tube. Enjoy!
Magpul Hunter X-22: Introducing TFB "Modification Minute" Gunsmithing Videos
I am very excited to launch the first Modification Minute video. These 1 – 2 minute Facebook videos will cover a range of gunsmithing and firearm maintenance subjects. I have been wanting to do a series like this for a long time but was unable to do so due to the tight budgets we operate under. At SHOT Show when I met with the Brownells team and I told them about my idea and asked if they would be interested in sponsoring it. They loved the idea (and a few other ideas I had, which will be revealed in time) and so Modification Minute was born.
PRODUCT RECALL: Some Brownells AR-15 Barrels Drilled Improperly
I just received an email that some Brownells AR-15 barrels are being recalled due to a small error in the manufacturing process. It appears that when drilling the gas port, some barrels may show signs of the drill bit contacting the rifling on the opposite side of the barrel.
Smith Tactics Battle-Bar: Ar15 Bolt Catch Extended to the Pistol Grip
A company called Smith Tactics manufactures an AR-15 bolt catch accessory – the Battle-Bar. It mounts on the lower receiver over the AR-15 bolt catch/release button extending it to the rear, to an area above the safety selector. The idea behind this accessory is to make bolt catch button manipulations faster and easier using the thumb of your primary/shooting hand.
TFB's 7th Day Of Christmas: Magazines
Ok, there is is nothing earth-shattering buried within TFB’s seventh day of Christmas. But no matter how many magazines you have collected over the years, it’s always fun to be gifted more. Or, if you are looking for last minute or Secret Santa gifts for the special shooters in your life, mags are a safe bet.
TFB's 2nd Day Of Christmas: Tools
TFB’s second day of Christmas may not be the most exciting category, but receiving tools as a gift has can be extremely satisfying. Whereas it is easy enough to drop $500 on ammunition, spending $20 on a single hand tool for yourself seems outrageous – even though we already know paying for quality tools is a wise investment. So why not put gunsmithing tools on your holiday gift giving (or receiving) guide to family and friends. Some are small and inexpensive enough to be stocking stuffers, other’s can be the main event.

Brownells website now doesn't suck
Brownells have finally updated their awful website and said in their own words that it “no longer sucks!”
