[IWA 2022] Brownells: The WWSD Crosses the Pond!
If you have been a long-time reader of TFB, the WWSD (What Would Stoner Do) rifle should be familiar to you. In short, it is a project of the two YouTube channels Forgotten Weapons and InRange, in which they tried to follow Eugene Stoner’s original vision for the AR-15 but using modern materials. The result was such a good rifle that Brownells stepped forward and added it to their product catalog. It has been available in the US for a while, and at the end of this week, Europe will follow suit.
Testing the WWSD: An Ultralight Space Gun
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves looks at the WWSD or “What Would Stoner Do?” rifle, an ultra-lightweight build from Karl and Ian at InRangeTV in collaboration with Brownells, Inc.
At just 5 pounds, this is a featherweight carbine, but the price is heavy at $1,700. Is this ultra-high-tech design worth the spend? Check today’s video to find out for yourself.

KE Arms WWSD Rifles are Back in Stock and Shipping from Brownells
If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on one of KE Arms WWSD rifles then you’re in luck. Brownells has just announced that the KP-15 equipped WWSD 2020 rifle is currently in stock and ready to ship straight from their warehouse to your FFL. The WWSD was a pretty monumental release for KE Arms back at the end of 2020 and although I have had two of their lowers for close to a year, I still haven’t been able to acquire all the parts to build out a complete rifle. If you’ve been struggling like I have to get all the correct parts for the build, maybe it’s time to just bite the bullet and purchase the completed rifle.

The Firearms Police Foundation and Firearms Policy Coalition are both organizations that wholeheartedly back the 2nd Amendment as their primary mission.
TFB Review: Brownells BRN-180 Gen 2 Upper
Last year, Brownells dropped their new Gen 2 version of the BRN-180 upper receiver onto the market. They came out with both shorter barrel variants as well as an option for .300 Blackout. Every time I saw the new BRN-180 Gen 2 upper, it piqued my curiosity and after a while, I decided to pick up one and put it through its paces. I’ve had the BRN-180 for a couple months now and put a decent amount of ammo through it, even with this crazy ammo crunch. Let’s dive deeper into Brownells BRN-180 Gen 2 Upper Receiver.
Brownells Introduces California Compliant RETRO Rifles
Brownells have released California compliant versions of their Retro family of reproduction rifles. As you know, these rifles have a lot of “scary” features such as pistol grips and flash hiders, however, deleting these features or replacing them with featureless parts to make them California compliant would completely ruin the historical appearance of these replicas. That’s why Brownells opted to install Battle Arms Development fixed magazine conversions in their California compliant Retro rifles.
