Review: ATN X-Sound Hearing Protector Earmuffs
When it comes to hearing protection there are a few key markers in a good set. For one, we want them to be comfortable enough where we are willing to wear them continually during long range sessions. Secondly, they need to adequately suppress sound so they are hearing safe (a bonus would be an electronic set that allows you to hear lower decibel sounds like a conversation). Finally, I would like my hearing protection to be slim, light, and potentially even allow me to listen to music or receive phone calls. One new option that achieves all of this is the ATN X-Sound Hearing Protector recently debuted by ATN Corp. So, we are going to examine how their new set of electronic and Bluetooth technology equipped earmuffs perform here today. Let’s dive in!
New ATN ThOR LT 35mm and Mossy Oak ThOR 4 Models Available
If you’re looking to get into the thermal hunting or shooting scene, now may be a good time as ATN has just introduced new versions of their popular Thor thermal riflescopes. The Thor line boasts thermal detection ranges out to nearly 1,000 yards with their 60 Hz thermal sensor. Best of all, the Lightweight ThOR LT weighs in at just 1.4 pounds and is meant to be mounted directly to virtually any Crossbow, Air Rifle, or other popular platforms where weight savings are critical. Meanwhile, the ThOR 4 boasts new camouflage patterns to match your favorite hunting camo pattern and ATN’s Gen 4 thermal sensor technology.
[SHOT 2022] ATN ODIN LT Series Thermal Monocular
At SHOT Show ATN had their latest on display. One of them was this thermal monocular they call the ODIN LT Series. It is a handheld device that can be helmet mounted.
Miami Heat (Detection) – ATN Corp Relocates from CA to FL
In the continued reversal of mid-19th century American migration habits, ATN Corp is the latest Californian company to leave California for Florida. I’ll fight the urge to cross the border in to politics, but if one is at all familiar with the living and regulatory environmental differences between the two states, one can understand why an expanding company would make such a move.
ATN Introduces The ODIN LT 320 2-4X Compact Thermal Monocular
Thermal imaging devices have come a long way over the last 20 years in terms of affordability and availability. Organizations like ATN have truly made thermal and day/night digital scopes affordable for the average man and their latest thermal monocular, the ODIN LT 320 is shaping up to be a great handy little tool for spotting animals for hunting or just keeping an eye on your property at night.
Can The ATN ThOR 4 Get You Out To Long Ranges?
I’ll admit, prior to this review my opinion of ATN was a bit mixed. Around 5 years ago, we had access to an early version of one of their thermal scopes, and it was not ready for primetime. Luckily my opinion has changed after getting some time with the ATN ThOR 4 at a recent TFB event in Texas…
HANDS-ON: ATN ThOR 4 4-40x Thermal Rifle Scope
Last month in Texas I had a chance to try out the ATN ThOR 4 4-40x Thermal Rifle Scope. Thanks to the facilities at Mellon Creek Outfitters I had access to plenty of distance, and the opportunity to shoot both day and night with this optic. I mounted the ThOR 4 atop an M16A4 post-sample machine gun I brought to see just how well this optic would hold up.
Friday Night Lights: ATN NVM14 – Entry Level Night Vision Monocular
Good evening everyone and welcome back to TFB’s Friday Night Lights series. We are excited to announce that FNL is now sponsored by ATN Corp, manufacturers of night vision and thermal optics like the THOR LT. As with all of our sponsored series, Friday Night Lights will continue to bring you unbiased news and reviews from a variety of companies. This week we just happen to start with ATN. Most night vision and thermal devices are somewhat expensive often costing well over $2,000. In some cases twice or triple that cost. I was curious to see how well their lowest-cost night vision monocular performs. One of the ATN NVM14 is just under $2,000 making it a bit more affordable.
Friday Night Lights: ATN ThOR4 Hog Hunt
Back in the summer of 2019, I reviewed the ATN Corp ThOR4 thermal scope. I tested and evaluated the ThOR4 from behind a bench, not so much as a hunter. Well, an opportunity arose to further test the ThOR4 but in a more practical scenario, such as hog hunting. I will admit I was not overly impressed with the ThOR4 the first time I reviewed it. However, Adam S. and I went on an ATN ThOR4 hog hunt down in South Texas at Mellon Creek Outfitters and the experience changed my mind about the ThOR4.
[SHOT 2021] New ATN TICO LT – Thermal Clip-On Sight
Like I predicted, 2021 is going to be the year for Thermal Clip-on sights. TFB has already reported about the Pulsar KRYPTON FXG50, the Leica Calonox and several other manufacturers are ready to jump on the thermal train.
Friday Night Lights: Dual Tube Spotlight – ATN PS31
For this week’s Friday Night Lights we resume our Dual Tube Spotlight and look at a new bino NVG from ATN. The ATN PS31 is an articulating housing that resembles an L3 PVS-31 but it has features that set it apart from the pinnacle of dual tube night vision goggles.
ATN Obsidian 4 App Users In Danger Of DOJ Abuse
A recent article from Forbes.com indicated some concerning issue regarding federal government overreach. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is demanding the names and data of Obsidian 4 App users from Apple and Google (Android).
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: ATN ThOR4 Revisited – 384 Vs 680 Now With Paired Laser Rangefinder
Last November, Rusty S, reviewed the ATN ThOR4. It was a mixed review. Some positives with a healthy dose of negatives. I got a chance to review the ATN ThOR4 640×480 whereas Rusty reviewed the 394×288 version. ATN sent me both to compare. So here is the ThOR4 revisited.
