Meats Guns … uurgghhhh
I have blogged about soap guns, gold guns, ice guns, lego guns and chocolate guns but I never thought I would be blogging about meat guns. These “guns” were made by the artist Dimitri Tsykalov.
The Singing Bird Pistols
Last month Christie’s auctioned off a matching pair of “mirror-image gold, enamel, agate, pearl and diamond-set singing bird pistols”. The “pistols” are incredible. They were made by the Frères Rochat in the 1820s for the Chinese market and had an estimated auction price was $2.5 – $5 million. They sold for over $5,866,499! No description from me will do them justice, watch the video embedded after the jump.
Using guns to make art
Alabama-based artist Walton Creel creates images, which resemble the print-outs from the old dot-matrix printers, using bullet holes.
Turning Destroyed Guns into Art
Chauss513 is an artist whose unusual medium is guns that have been destroyed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He turns the firearm pieces he receives into furniture and steampunk-esque replica guns. His latest batch of raw material come from a local gun buy-back program.
