Palmetto State Armory 7mm-08 AR-10 Uppers
Budget AR makers Palmetto State Armory recently released a new AR-10 upper receiver chambered in the long range 7mm-08 cartridge. Their new upper features a 20″ stainless steel barrel, 1/9 twist rate, rifle-length gas system, m4 barrel extension, low profile gas block, Midwest Industries SSK15 15″ Keymod Rail and a bolt carrier group. Light Rifle 1.5: A Clarification
This is the zeroeth part of a series of posts seeking to describe and analyze the 7.62mm Light Rifle concept promoted by the Americans, and subsequently adopted by NATO in various forms. This series will cover development from before World War II to the present day, but will focus primarily on the period from 1944-1970, which constitutes the span of time from the Light Rifle’s conception until its end in the United States with the standardization of the M16.
Armalite National Match AR-10 (7.62×51/.308) Now Available
Continuing to build on their legacy of fantastic national match rifles, Armalite has re-released their National Match rifles, now including a .308 version of their AR-10 platform. The rifles are built on an exclusive triple-lapped 416-R stainless barrel in 1/10 twist (idea for 150-175 grain loads). Further equipped with a matching A2-style flash suppressor, the rifle also includes a two-stage trigger (1st- 2.5 lbs, 2nd – 4.5 – 5 lbs).
3D Printed AR-10 Lower Receiver
Remember the 3D printed SIG P250 frame we posted recently from PrintedFirearm? They have another project they posted recently that’s also pretty interesting, an AR-10 (CM901/LE901) lower receiver. They even test fired it.

We’ve covered a little bit of the AR-18 here before, and in passing mentioned its ancestor, the 7.62mm AR-16. Armalite's Revamped Product Line
Armalite has significantly re-worked its M-15 and AR-10 product line. Still offered are Armalite’s more trademarked “A4” style AR-10s, but now Armalite is offering railed, braked guns intended for 3-gun competition, as well as brace-equipped M-15 and AR-10 pistols.
New Wilson Combat .308 Cal Rifles
Wilson Combat has entered the big bore EBR market with its new line of .308 caliber AR-pattern rifles. They feature Wilson Combat’s trademarked “BILLet-AR” receiver construction, and come in both 16″ and 20″ lengths. From the somewhat lengthy press release:
LooseRounds' Colt 901 MARC Review
LooseRounds has posted an early review of the Colt 901 MARC rifle. In addition to doing standard 100 yard accuracy testing, he also tested the target at 1,000 and 1,200 yards. That’s really stretching its legs!
