Some rifles need to be wet to run well, while others enjoy a good, carbon-soaked beating. No matter how well any particular firearm can fight through grime, they all need maintenece at some point. In this regard, AR-pattered rifles do a great job of making field stripping a breeze. Pop the pins and pivot, or separate both halves completely. Not all small parts are created equally, however, and those looking to upgrade their AR-10 pins now have a new option from Strike Industries. These are the new AR-10 Extended Pivot and Takedown pins.

Palmetto State Armory released its Sabre line of premium AR-15 rifles a short while back. This past week they added their new Sabre AR-10 available in both forged and billet models with barrel lengths ranging from 13.7in (348mm) to 20in (508mm), featuring Springco upgrades like the gas rings, extractor spring, and ejector spring as well as a Radian Raptor charging handle and Talon selector. The Sabre AR-10 comes with a lot of the aftermarket upgrades people install in their rifles, right from the factory.

Luth-AR, a manufacturer of rifle components and accessories, has announced the release of its new . 308 24″ Fluted Bull Barrel Complete Upper. The upper is designed to deliver exceptional performance and reliability for a range of applications, including hunting, competition, and tactical shooting. The upper features a threaded barrel made from 4150 Chrome Moly steel, with a 1:10 twist rate and a flash hider installed. The upper is also equipped with a 15″ .308 Widebody Hand Guard, which provides M-LOK attachment points and a Picatinny top rail.

Jacob Grey Firearms of West Columbia, SC is a manufacturer of AR-style rifles, 1911 pistols and firearm accessories. At  SHOT Show 2023, Jacob Grey Firearms showed their new JG10 Warthog line of DPMS LR-308 pattern semi-auto rifles and pistols. According to the company officials, what sets their firearms apart from the competition is the extremely tight tolerances that they achieve thanks to their experience in military aircraft parts manufacturing.

Odin Works offers a full suite of complete firearms, parts, and accessories primarily for the AR platform. From AR-15s, AR-10s, AR-9s, suppressors, and more, this Boise, Idaho-based shop pretty much does it all. Previously, their AR-10 complete upper receiver lineup has ranged in length from 16″ to 22″ barrels. Now the company is expanding their offerings by adding a new carbine-length option as well. Meet the new Odin Works 11.5″ .308 complete upper receiver.

The Ruger SFAR or Small Frame Auto-Loading Rifle was released earlier this year to the pleasure of many firearms enthusiasts including many readers of TFB. Judging from the initial responses in the comments from the product announcement, many of you seem interested in a lightweight small-frame AR-10 for hunting, and regular range use with the smaller frame of the SFAR being ideal for carrying afield and the reduced weight making it much more portable. However, I think the biggest draw that got a lot of readers excited about the SFAR was the price. The Ruger SFAR retails for an MSRP of just $1,229 for either the 20″ barrel or 16″ barrel configuration. This makes the SFAR one of the most affordable lightweight small-frame .308 semi-auto rifles on the market (many have compared the SFAR to the POF Rogue). We could go back and forth all day about pricing, feature sets, and use cases for this rifle, but what about its performance? I’ve had my own copy of the 16″ Ruger SFAR for a couple of months now and I’ve poured hundreds of rounds of .308 through it and also had the benefit of having two other TFB contributors who have the same rifle give me their performance data, meaning as opposed to a sample size of just one, we’re getting to see the performance of 3 different copies of the same rifle, which should give all of you the info you need to make an informed decision as to whether or not the Ruger SFAR is the right choice for you.

Strike Industries is well known for having some of the most popular aftermarket AR-15 accessories on the market and today they’ve just announced their new AR-10 Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts Kit (less trigger, hammer, disconnector, pistol grip, and trigger guard). The parts that are omitted are likely already going to have been selected by someone who is building their own AR-10 and the new Enhanced Lower Receiver Parts Kit from Strike Industries includes some upgraded basics that someone might want to add to their build.

Ruger is attempting to fill the void left by the discontinuation of their SR-762 rifle with the introduction of their new SFAR or Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle. This new .308 AR-pattern rifle is a heavy-hitting option that manages to fit into similar dimensions as conventional AR-556 rifles as well as bringing the total weight of the entire package down to just 6.8 lbs for the 16″ version. With this announcement, Ruger has confirmed that the new Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle is not only being produced as we speak, but units have already begun shipping to their distributors meaning you’ll be able to pick up this hot new rifle from your local Ruger dealer soon. Bear Creek Arsenal has rapidly expanded its available rifle and pistol lineup for the American firearms enthusiast. In their latest newsletter, they announced they would introduce three new lines of AR platform rifles to help shooters find something that will fit their needs. These new lines will include the all-around Fieldmaster, the long-range oriented Targetmaster, and the Huntmaster – I’ll let you guess what that one is marketed for. Judging by the amount of new AR-10 pattern firearms released by American companies lately, I think it is safe to say that this is currently one of the most booming market segments in the industry. Anderson Manufacturing introduced the second generation of their  AM-10 .308 Win guns at NRAAM 2022. Initially, this product line consisted of three rifles – Battle Rifle, Ranger and Marksman XL. A couple of days ago, the company announced the addition of a new member to the AM-10 family of firearms, the AM-10 Gen2 Breacher pistol.
