First, it’s always great to have options but secondly, the technology stuffed inside of these tiny little in-ear devices has become quite good and in some cases can enhance your hearing while simultaneously protecting it. I don’t think anyone is going to argue that in-ear electronic hearing protection is in any way superior to traditional over-the-ear muffs but on a hot summer day when the sweat is pouring down your neck, those giant gel ear cups can be quite uncomfortable. Even if it’s cold out, over-the-ear hearing protection can often interfere with your cheek weld when shooting a rifle, and for these reasons, I generally prefer to field in-ear electronic hearing protection. We’re fortunate in the modern age to have access to not only a wide variety of high-quality pistol-mounted flashlights but handguns that can field these lights as well. Frequent online shoppers will know that Amazon has a pretty abhorrent track record when it comes to counterfeit items showing up on their storefront. While many manufacturers of quality firearms accessories and products will opt to put up an official Amazon store page, many companies also suffer at the hands of counterfeit manufacturers who sell cheap or poorly constructed knockoffs of official products. In a recent and significant “David vs. Goliath” victory in court, the Israel-based Maglula company defeated the mega-corporation Amazon in what ended up as a “straightforward counterfeit case” according to U.S. Court Judge Liam O’Grady when commenting on his ruling of the case.

Hello and welcome to TFB weekly Amazon Deals 8: National Composites Week. Composites have taken on a big role in the firearms world and continue to do so as the years go by. From carbon fiber handguards, roll-wrapped barrels, and composite rifle stocks, you almost can’t avoid the part of a composite firearm in this day and age, and probably for good reason. This week we’ll be featuring some recent deals I’ve discovered on Amazon that involve composite gun parts as well as a few other odds and ends I found that was interesting.

A United States court has recently ruled that online retail giant Amazon.com must submit itself to an inventory inspection over claims by Maglula that Amazon has been a direct seller of Maglula counterfeits.

Have you ever ordered a gun-related tool or accessory on Amazon only to have some assembly or modification required?  Reading product reviews can be a good source of entertainment in some cases, and cringe-worthy in others, as people give products a bad review for not fitting the intended purpose of the buyer.  In numerous instances, only a slight modification was needed to hone it to their needs, but they just gave up instead.  If you’ve ever seen a “watch people die inside” video, such product reviews are like a text version of that, let’s explore.

Magazine and accessory manufacturer MagLULA has filed a lawsuit against Amazon.com for alleged Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) violations stemming from the advertising and sale of counterfeit MagLULA, UpLULA and other products covered by registered trademark and copyright protections. The suit, dated December 12, 2019, alleges the unauthorized use of trademarks and copyrights by Amazon in connection with advertising, distribution, offering for sale and by other means listed below. Excerpts from the 79-page filing can be found below.

As we have demonstrated time and time again within the walls of TFB’s “ HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP” series, being labeled a Fudd is an indictment of a state of mind, not term based solely on the equipment you own or the activities you pursue. Case in point: I own a KA-BAR knife in a leather sheath. What (hopefully) keeps me from being labeled a Fudd is that I don’t believe “no one needs a switchblade for a utility knife”. My point is, you can see the usefulness of Elmer’s ear-warming hat without discovering you are his first cousin on 23andMe.com. But Fudd Gear does exist and is apparently one Prime click away from home delivery.

There are a lot of pistol safes on the market, some of them do a great job at keeping your handguns protected, while others are as a safe as a cardboard box. Amazon has a few pistol safes on their site sold under their Amazon Basics line, but just how good are they?

Imagine a free world where you could use Amazon Prime to order a dozen Magpul PMags, a case of 5.56mm ammo or a Geissele AR-15 trigger. And while I realize that it’s “their business, their rules” and that there are many other high-quality outlets that will ship you exactly what you want, there is still a part of me that wonders “why not?”. For the moment at least, there are a limited number of gun accessories and related gear products on the world’s largest internet retailer to keep us all somewhat happy. We’ve peppered you with knives, flashlights and the occasional less-than-lethal suggestion. But I decided to dig into the Amazon underworld, looking for firearm-related gear products that you don’t see every day. Who knows, maybe some of these Amazon gun gifts can be the perfect way to end a long friendship at this year’s company Secret Santa gift exchange.

Our friends over at Maglula sent some photos of the counterfeit loaders that have been purchased from Amazon directly. As before, the best thing you can do to avoid falling victim to the fake loaders is to buy from a reputable retailer that purchased their entire inventory from Maglula.

It is all too easy to fall into marketing hype when searching for accessories for your rifle, even easier still when you are new to shooting sports. With the boom in new shooters over the last several years having limited knowledge about what practical accessories work and which ones don’t, companies all over the world trying to dip into the pocket of new shooters are giving birth to some questionable gun parts. One lazy weekend day I decided to see if I could find the most ludicrous accessory on the market. I think I may have succeeded in finding the worst ar-15 accessory on the planet, the Tufforce Muzzle Brake with 4 side Picatinny rail.
