Accuracy International's New Rifle: The AT-X

New from Accuracy International this year is the AT-X.  This new rifle is optimized by AI for PRS style competitions.  Featuring the same action as AI’s existing AT and AX rifles, the AT-X has an all new stock with both short and full length bridges, Win Tac weights, and 45-degree KeySlots for quick attachment and detachment of weights and accessories in a competition.  The AT-X’s included grip is an Ergo AR15 grip, so one can change the grip easily to one’s preferred angle and size.

6.5 Creedmoor and Aussie Precision: Lithgow Introduces LA105 Woomera Long Range Rifle

Australian rifle company Lithgow Arms has introduced a new rifle for the precision rifle shooting (PRS) market. Called the LA-105 Woomera (after an Australian aboriginal type of general purpose atlatl or spear thrower), it is based on the Lithgow Arms LA102 centerfire bolt action rifle, but further accurized and fitted with a Kinetic Research Group developed chassis that is similar to both the Whiskey-3 and X-Ray chassis. The chassis features a simpler stock like the X-Ray, but M-LOK mounting points on the forend similar to the Whiskey-3 and Bravo chassis.

AX50s now in Service with Turkish Law Enforcement

The Turkish national law enforcement special response teams (Police Special Operations Department, Polis Özel Harekât Dairesi) have recently adopted Accuracy International’s .50 BMG AX50 anti-material rifle according to Aybars, a Turkish defense analyst on Twitter.  Mentions of this upcoming sale were made in the early part of June, but recently he posted photos and videos confirming the presence of AX50s within the PÖH response units. Gun-Recognizing Software Can See Firearms on Video: Spanish University Develops "Gun-Smart" AI

Can a computer pick out and identify guns directly from video footage, without the aid of a human? That’s the technology being demonstrated by a program at the Spanish University of Granada, which earlier this year released a video purporting to show an computer artificial intelligence doing just that.
