The long awaited FN SCAR 17S is now shipping (to dealers) in all its 7.62x51mm goodness 🙂

I recently blogged about Tony Williams’ presentation at the NDIA Conference in which he argued that that NATO needs a new rifle and machine gun round. Directly after his presentation Per G. Arvidsson, Chairman of the NATO Weapons & Sensors Working Group, gave a presentation in defense of the 5.56mm NATO round [PDF Link].

The SCAR-H PR (Precision Rifle) show below has an extra rail for accessories (this one is with the KAC front sight, but future models will have front sight integrated into the rail), a heavy 20″ barrel, new two-stage adjustable trigger and a 6-positon buttstock with ergonomic butt plate and new adjustable and nonslip cheek piece.

SIG Sauer is now making polymer magazines for the SIG 751 which are patterned after the SIG 550 magazines. The SIG 751 SAPR is essentially a scaled up 7.62mm version of the SIG 550.

The LaRue Tactical OSR has been a long time coming but LaRue are nearing shipping the rifles that are currently on order.
