Last week we brought you a look at the Hansohn Brothers Vidar 22 rimfire silencer. Today we take a look at the challenges of adding a beltfed rifle suppressor to a crew served machinegun. When SIG Sauer and SIG Sauer Electro-Optics first announced the introduction of their SIG Spear (M5) rifle they also paired it with a specific trim of the TANGO6T 1-6x24mm LPVO optic. This specific trim was designed and accepted by the U.S. Military and was dubbed the TANGO6T DVO or Direct View Optic. This optic system comes complete with the ALPHA4 mount, lay-flat flip caps, and an anti-reflection device and is now being made available for purchase by the general public for the first time.

Frontier Armory, an importer of African and European gun parts, has announced two new modernization packages for the original Galil, the Kudu and the Oryx. These kits add additional rail space and other improvements to facilitate use with optics and accessories. Both kits will be available for the longer gas system of the standard (or R4) rifle, or the shorter SAR (R5) carbine.

Small arm designs are introduced in both revolutionary and evolutionary processes, each being equally important to developing a reliable and capable firearm system. Back in the middle of July, SIG Sauer had me, and Hop of TFBTV out to their New Hampshire facilities for the grand opening of the new flagship SIG Experience Center, as well as the launch of the new P365 X-Macro pistol. While we were at the same event, SIG Sauer also revealed to us that they would be soon releasing a new series of rifles in the MCX line, The MCX Spear-LT. This new line of rifles adds some new functionality and features to the MCX Virtus design as well as a somewhat surprising new chambering – 7.62x39mm.
