Experimental WWI Blowback Submachine Gun

WWI was a time of runaway technology that in many ways outstripped the tactical and strategic thinking of the era. Older concepts of the dominance of technologies like the bayonet, and long-range rifle fire, and of the preeminence of the elan or morale of soldiers died hard as thinkers of the era struggled to integrate new weapons like machine gun and the long-range breechloading artillery piece into a theory of warfare that would give whomever found it first the winning edge.

Kriss Vector SBR By XRayguns.com

Houston Hardin, sent me these images via email. As a fan of the KRISS Vector, I am ecstatic. Houston had already xrayed a KRISS Vector Carbine, but now he has turned his sights onto his SBR. He is still waiting for the Form 4 but his FFL was kind enough to bring this over for him to scan it. Houston said he hasn’t even shot his SBR yet. He should rectify that as expediently as possible.

KRISS Vector Right Hand Magazine Release

Necessity is the mother of invention. Last year, when I was living in NY state, I figured out that I could use my KRISS Vector faster if I could release the magazine with my right hand. We were only allowed 10 rd magazines so reloading was crucial to action pistol caliber matches at my club. I had been shooting my Vector Carbine like an AR and using an extended thumb over bore grip with my left hand. The KRISS Vector magazine is a Glock 21, so the magazine catch is also a Glock design. I would have to release my left hand, move to the magwell, press the mag release and then go for a fresh mag. I then developed a magazine release lever that is mounted to the right side of the weapon. It makes reloads much faster.

KRISS Vector charging handle issues

Since May of 2012, there have been a few complaints from KRISS Vector owners about the difficulty in pulling the charging handle on their KRISS Vectors. It didn’t matter if it was a Carbine, SDP pistol, or SBR. Some owners have mitigated the problem with 500 rds+ of ammo as well as storing their Vector with the bolt locked open. Here Justin Bove shows how difficult it is to charge his Vector SBR.
