Federal Premium has expanded out their line of Hydra Shok Deep to now include .40 S&W and .45 ACP for those who rely on those cartridges for carry and protection. This bolstering of the Hydra Shok Deep line of ammunition occurred recently in the middle of February and firearm retailers are now seeing shipments of the cartridges arrive for sale to shooters.

I have been speaking with the good folks at Polymer80 for last few weeks about a possible series. I stopped by their booth at range day and found their new release. For you .45acp fans they have come through. They now have an 80% frame for the well-loved (or hated by some) Glock 21. Although it is not on their site yet, I promise it is real. They say it will be available in the next couple of months

Auto Ordnance Corporation (of the Kahr Firearms Group) has unveiled a NEW Thompson Case Hardened Tommy Gun chambered in the traditional .45 ACP with looks that could kill. The aesthetic, swirling-water appearance of case hardening that is most closely associated with revolvers looks right at home on the side of their newest Tommy Gun. This new model, according to the Kahr Firearms Group, is now shipping to retailers and should be available for purchase extremely soon.

In a surprising move, Honor Defense is now offering a line of frangible hollow-point (HP) ammunition to the public. Their immediate flavors are your usual suspects for modern carry calibers. Where a lot of gun manufacturers are now offering ammo, but produced by an outside party, it appears they may actually be making this in-house. The laundry list of specifications and quality surrounding this new line of ammunition can be read below, as presented by Honor Defense:

Wilson Combat has introduced the Commander version of the Vickers Elite 1911 pistol. This shorter iteration of the Vickers Elite 1911 is designed for the concealed carry market. As you can expect from a Wilson Combat gun, this pistol is packed with a bunch of custom features.

While the overall market for AR-15s continues to remain consistent as of late, one sub-market within that category that continues to inch upward are pistol-caliber carbines (PCC). With the ability to share ammunition with people’s handguns, the more affordable cost of ammunition relative to rifle calibers and the potential to even share magazines with handguns, there are a lot of upsides to owning one. If a consumer is pursuing a PCC it is often one that accepts Glock magazines because of how prevalent they are in the industry. This is where the AlphaWolf comes in.

Ed Brown has announced the addition of the new Executive Commander pistol to their Elite series of custom 1911 pistols. The company has also updated the Kobra Carry pistol. Let’s take a quick look at each of these handguns.

RedBall Sports makes high capacity magazines for Hi-Point pistol caliber carbines. Earlier TFB reported about their 9mm magazines and recently the company announced that they are now making .45 ACP magazines for Hi-Point 4595TS Carbines.

The Kahr Arms Group has collaborated with Outlaw Ordnance to produce a limited run of a one-of-a-kind Desert Eagle 1911. This 1911 is emblazoned with a special cerakote finish, custom features and is being dubbed the “We The People” Desert Eagle 1911 CSS.

A popular YouTube channel called The Slow Mo Guys makes a variety of cool videos filmed with high-end slow motion cameras. Among their videos, there is a fair amount of gun-related ones too. Arguably one of the most interesting slow motion footages is to see the bullet in flight or hitting various objects. Who doesn’t like to watch these mesmerizing videos?

A German company called JANZ-Präzisionstechnik has introduced a new pistol designed by the company’s master gunsmith Horst Schuknecht. It is called Janz-Schuknecht pistol. It is a striker fired locked breech, short barrel recoiling firearm with quite an unusual locking mechanism.

After a temporary pause in producing video content, Royal Nonesuch is back. This YouTube channel is known for the variety of homemade gun projects. Not only he is back but also plans to start even more entertaining projects. He also applied for an FFL and SOT which will allow him to expand the range of weapons and mechanisms he can experiment with. Among his first new project is a gun utilizing an advanced primer ignition (API) mechanism with an extended chamber. Let’s see how the host of the channel describes his project.

In Iver Johnson Arms’ booth at SHOT Show 2018, there were two new firearms. One of them is a four-barreled derringer chambered in .22LR and the second one is a 1911 pistol-based carbine.
