Gemtech 22QDA – 4 Lug Rimfire Adapter
Traditionally, mounting a suppressor to a rimfire host involves screw threads rather than the quick detach methods found on many modern-day rifle suppressors. And the H&K style 3-Lug silencer mounts have been reserved for subguns and pistol caliber carbines. Hoping to change the way (and speed) in which we swap 22 long rifle cans across hosts, Gemtech has released the 22QDA – a four lug, spring loaded mounting system capable of being used on any 1/2 x 28″ rimfire silencer.

POTD: CZ 455 Varmint Precision Trainer Camo
Corey likes his bolt guns set up like a sniper rifle. His GA Precision .308 is a prime example of that. Here is his CZ 455 Vamint trainer that he had threaded to run his SilencerCo Sparrow. It comes with that camouflaged Manners stock made for the CZ 455. He mounted a Viper PST 6-24x scope and a BT Industries Atlas Bipod. Quite the setup for just shooting some .22LR rimfire rounds.
POTD: American 180
SilencerCo posted up this photo of an American-180 on their Instagram page.
POTD: Beretta Mod 102
Another of Keith’s gems in his machine shop. A target pistol Beretta Mod 102. It still has the original box and papers.
[GAOS] Keystone Sporting Arms Crickett Precision Rifle
Two months ago Keystone Sporting Arms posted a teaser picture of their Crickett Precision Rifle (CPR). Click here to read the article I posted.
A YouTuber Builds a 18.9 oz Repeating Rimfire Rifle
The host of YouTube channel called ECCO Machine has designed a bolt action magazine fed rifle chambered in .22LR, which weighs only 18.9 oz (unloaded). There are a couple of such lightweight survival .22LR rifles on the market, namely the Pack-Rifle and a Cricket rifle conversion by a company called Ruta Locura. These two weigh even less (around 15 oz), but they are single shot rifles. ECCO’s rifle is a magazine fed one.
Kingston Armory .22LR M1A/M14 Replica | SHOT 2017
Kingston Armory makes a full size replica of the M1 and M14 chambered in .22LR. For obvious reasons there are some compromises taken. The guns uses a rotary box magazine that Kingston makes, however it is compatible with Ruger 10-22 style magazines.
SERBU Firearms | SHOT 2017
Patrick and the TFBTV team covered the Serbu gang at SHOT, but I wanted to stop by and see the GB-22 for myself. As previously explained, the “GB” in GB-22 stands for Gun Buyback – this is Serbu’s attempt to flood useless gun turn-in programs that some cities and towns have spun up in an attempt to reduce crime. As we have seen time and time again, the result is that mostly garbage firearms or rare collectors pieces are turned over, both of which are indiscriminately melted down.
Closer Look At The Magpul X-22 Backpacker | SHOT 2017
Just last week, Magpul announced the X-22 Backpacker. It is a new variant of their X-22 Hunter Takedown stock but it is designed for backpacking out into the woods. Almost like a survival rifle. The handguard has been shortened and the stock has been altered so that you can store the barrel under the stock. The handguard interfaces into the cutaway section of the stock and locks onto a slot just behind the grip.
Defiance DMK22 | SHOT 2017
KRISS ARMS sister company, Defiance is bringing out a .22LR AR15. One very interesting feature is that it uses 10-22 barrels. There is a small catch. It is not compatible with Bentz chambered barrels. It has to do with how the DMK chambers its rounds.
Twinkie As A Suppressor?
Natezoinks posted this video on Jan 4. They shoot a 10/22 with sub sonic .22LR ammo by Normatac into a Twinkie. They jokingly say “I think we have a Twinkie Silencer folks!”. Did they make a silencer though? I would argue that they did not. First of all the Twinkie is not attached to the barrel which is part of the definition of a suppressor and key characteristic of one. Secondly they do not show what the bullet does once exiting the Twinkie. For all we know, the bullet could have been diverted by the cream filling and veered off at an awkward angle. Typically a decent suppressor shouldn’t shift POI too much. So in order to be a proper silencer, they should have had a target behind the Twinkie and see if sub sonic bullet can even travel through and hit the target.
[SHOT 17] Defiance DMK-22 Got A Release Date And A New Look!
At last year’s SHOT Show, we gave you a peek at the upcoming Defiance DMK-22 rifle and hinted at a release date as well as a pretty interesting feature. Well now that they have come out and said it in the below press release, the DMK-22 will accept MOST Ruger 10/22 barrels as well as MOST .22 lr AR-15 mags.
POTD: Charter Arms Explorer II
Charter Arms used to make a pistol version of the Armalite AR7. They are being made by Henry Repeating Arms as the U.S. Survival AR7. Unfortunately they are only made as rifles and not pistols like this one. It sort looks like the DL44 Blaster used by Han Solo.
This Is Not Your Daddy's Gun: Crickett Precision Rifle
Keystone Sporting Arms LLC posted this photo on their Facebook page. I called them up to find out if this was real or not. According to Salesman Nathan, the CPR is based off their bull barrel Cricketts. They noticed the trend in the firearms industry is to make rifles with threaded barrels for suppressors. But they did not stop there. As you can see in the photo above, the chassis is modeled after the Accuracy International’s chassis. The CPR will also come with the EZ Loader. It is a feed ramp to help aid feeding of rounds thrown into the ejection port.
