DIY Barrel Made of REBAR and Rimfire Barrel Liner
A YouTube channel called “ This Stuff I Do” has a 3-part video series showing how the host of the channel makes a DIY .22LR barrel out of rebar with a rimfire barrel liner installed into it. Barrel liners are thin-walled rifled cylinders which are designed to give a second life to worn out barrels (mostly rimfire ones) by installing the liner into the original bore.
CCI Polymer Coated .22 LR Ammunition
CCI has introduced .22 LR ammunition with polymer coated bullets. Although the polymer coating is nothing new in the industry, looks like nobody has commercially offered polymer coated .22 LR before. These CCI cartridges are loaded with 40-grain bullets traveling at a muzzle velocity of 1,235 fps.
Review: LifeCard 22 – A Folding .22LR Handgun
I have always wanted a small compact folding pistol that shoots .22LR. I have been wanting a Braverman Pen Gun but the prices were just too much for what it is. Well just last August, Trailblazer Firearms announced their LifeCard 22 pistol. This would be a great stand in for a pen gun. While it is not shaped like a pen, it is a folding pistol that is rather small. The LifeCard is a single shot pistol chambered in .22LR. It gets its name due to the size it resembles when folded. It is the same size as a credit card. It is of course thicker than a standard credit card. When closed it measures just 3.375″ x 2.125″ x 0.5″. As you can see in the photo above, the LifeCard fits inside an Altoids tin.
Tacticool22 10 Free Float S&W M&P 15-22 Handguard
One of my all time favorite rifles is the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22, out of all the firearms in my safe it definitely has had the most range time. It’s a great trainer rifle, it’s light and accurate and it’s just plain fun to shoot. One of the great features of the M&P 15-22 is it can use many of the parts a real deal 5.56 AR-15 can. Over the years I’ve used a bunch of various sights, optics, stocks, and triggers on my M&P 15-22, all of which were parts from my real ARs that I was no longer using. The only downfall really was the plastic quad rails the original M&P 15-22 came with, it worked ok but it just felt cheap.

Gungner GR22 Chassis for Ruger 10/22 Rimfire Rifles
A company called Gungner makes a Ruger 10/22 chassis which transforms the good old plinker into a tactical looking AR15 style rig. The chassis utilizes Ruger 10/22 controls. You can see what look to be AR-15 controls, but these are “fake” ones just to make it look like an AR-15 for the sake of coolness. However, the GR22 is compatible with AR-15 stocks and pistol grips.
Ruger 22 Charger AR Pistol Brace Adapter From Copper Custom
Pistol braces (or stabilizing braces) have been pretty hot the last year or so, especially since the ATF reversed their stance on shouldering them. In case you didn’t know, the ATF said you couldn’t shoulder a pistol brace a few years back. Then earlier this year they changed their minds and said it was OK to shoulder them again. Since then a bunch of different pistol braces have come out for various firearms. To some pistol braces are the gun equivalent of the vape (they make you look like a douche bag?). I think pistol braces are a good option for those in states that don’t allow you to own an SBR.
DIY Armor Plate Made of a Cookie Pan, Stones and a Book
A YouTube channel called 704 TACTICAL has published a video where the host of the channel makes a DIY body armor plate out of simple and cheap items found in Dollar Tree store. He applied glue into a cookie pan, glued some decorative stones to the pan, put a book as a backing layer and wrapped everything together with duct tape. The result is surprising and impressive. The video is right below:
Volquartsen MKIV Competition Upper
Rimfire rifle and pistol maker Volquartsen has announced the release of an upper receiver for Ruger’s recently released ( and recalled) MKIV rimfire pistol. Appropriately named the Volquartsen MKIV Competition receiver, the setup comes in a handful of lengths as well as sight and muzzle attachment options.
CNC Machine Chambered in .22LR ?
If you install a barrel in a CNC lathe and shoot a cartridge in it, will it make your lathe a firearm? Well, theoretically – yes (arguable), practically – not really, from the standpoint of law – probably depends on circumstances and how any particular legislation defines firearms. Anyway, folks at Serbu Firearms did exactly that. They secured a 3.2″ long .22LR barrel in the chuck of a CNC machine and ran the tailstock (with some sort of tool installed in it) at a sufficient speed to hit the .22LR case rim and ignite the priming compound. Serbu calls this “World’s largest .22LR pistol”.
