DI Optical is a South Korean optic manufacturer that have been around for 25 years. Their main products are various gunsights for auto-cannons and crew-served weapons. Those bigger DI Optical weapon sights are often re-labelled by other companies and sold to militaries and law enforcements around the world.

Primary Arms, a popular online retailer of optics and gun accessories, introduced their own line of affordable optics a few years back. The Advanced Series is their full-size red-dot sight models. The OEM of the optic is actually Holosun and it’s made in China.

Gabe Suarez is a polarizing figure. Our readers will certainly have some institutional memory of him interacting in the comments, but polarizing figures do have a tendency to spark real conversation about tough issues and in this case, Gabe Suarez is certainly able to do that. He has been a long proponent of adding red-dot sights to handguns, a trend that is starting to gain solid traction in the tactical shooting community.

DI Optical is a relatively new name at the Shot Show and the US commercial market. However, the South Korea based optic maker have been building military optics for machine gun, automatic grenade launcher and large caliber auto-canon for 25 years. All branches of the US military and many of our NATO allies are users of DI Optical made gunsights.

Elite Defense, a distributor of tactical accessories, displayed a prototype holographic weapon sight that’s made by ELCAN. The sight is named the Specter HCO (Holographic Combat Optic) by ELCAN. According to Elite Defense, the reticle in the HCO uses laser holographic projection that’s somewhat similar to the EOTech sights.

The new Trijicon MRO is the hottest optic currently. MRO stands for “Miniature Rifle Optic”. During the Fall 2015 Big 3 Media Event, I had a chance to try out the Trijicon MRO provided by Georgia Optics.

Introduced in late 2014, the Hi-Lux Optics MicroMax B-Dot is a mini red-dot sight that’s in the same category as the popular Aimpoint Micro T-1. Since, I have previously reviewed their optics ( CMR 1-4x review) for TFB, Hi-Lux Optics asked me for some design inputs during the development phase of this mini red-dot.

This is a TFB exclusive preview of the upcoming Meprolight (Mepro) TRU-DOT RDS battery powered reflex sight. The Mepro TRU-DOT RDS is a lower cost commercial version of the Mepro M5 reflex sight ( TFB preview), which it was developed as the successor to the Mepro M21 ( TFB review). The original criteria for the M5 called for an increase in the field-of-view, adjustable illumination levels and a price of $400-$450. However, when the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) took an interest in the M5 they requested a number of expensive features added. All of that led to a 2-years extensive field trial and the price has shot up to $625, which is now more expensive than the Mepro M21.
