RPP Costa Ludus M-LOK Handguard & Modular Rail System for Henry Rifles
Ranger Point Precision (RPP) was one of the first companies that started making modernization products for lever action rifles and Chris Costa of Costa Ludus was one of the first instructors who developed tactical lever gun training courses. The two companies have now teamed up to introduce the new Costa Collection of modern lever gun accessories with the first product in the line being the RPP Costa Ludus M-LOK Handguard & Modular Rail System for Henry rifles.

TFB Review: Ranger Point Precision Cloverleaf Peep Sights + Flyweight Loading Gate Springs
Ranger Point Precision is the gift that keeps on giving for us levergun shooters. I doubt a day goes by that they are not examining Marlins, Winchesters, and Henry rifles; asking themselves “What else can we improve?”. I’ve already modified my Marlin 1894 quite a bit with their parts, and have been extremely satisfied with the build quality and resultantly improved function. Recently, they have released two new products: The first is a cloverleaf peep sight for both Henrys and Marlins. The other new product is a “Flyweight” loading gate spring for Marlins. They were gracious enough to send both out to me to review, so let’s take a look at them.
Ranger Point Precision Adds Steyr Arms Custom Parts
Usually, when we discuss our friends at Ranger Point Precision the conversation is about some hot new lever gun they are working up. For example, a modified Marlin 336 rechambered in their .36 RPP wildcat cartridge. But today, Ranger Point Precision brings us some modern upgrades for the Steyr Arms A-1 pistols. RPP is now making threaded barrels, compensators and caliber conversion packages.
Review: Quick Enhancements for Marlin Leverguns
While I do like using iron sights on this particular rifle, I admit: The original buckhorn sights aren’t awesome. They’ve worked alright for hunting wild boar at close ranges, but shots past 100 yards get tricky. I worked up a table for my 3 primary hunting loads on this rifle as to where their point of impact is at what range on what rear sight elevation setting. Despite this, I don’t ever want to be fumbling with the rear sight elevator during a hunt. Back when I was testing out their new extractor claw, Ranger Point Precision was also nice enough to send me one of their front and rear sight assemblies to try out.
Ranger Point Precision Marlin 336 Chambered in .36 RPP
Ranger Point Precision published images of another custom made Marlin 336 lever action rifle chambered in .36 RPP. The cartridge was developed about a year ago. It is a .358 caliber cartridge based on the .35 Whelen case. The advantage over the .35 Remington is that .36 RPP can operate at higher pressures thus resulting in enhanced performance.
10mm and 40SW In One Levergun – Ranger Point Precision 10/40SS
Hold on a minute. You mean to tell me I can have one levergun that can feed and function both .40S&W and 10mm? The good people at Ranger Point Precision have developed an innovative new extractor for the Marlin 1894 that allows for the proper head spacing of 10mm ammunition as well as the use of .40S&W. The RPP 10/40SS will allow for economical range shooting or subsonic loads for silencer setups as well as a competent woods gun pushing hard cast lead in 10mm cases.
TFB Lightning Review: Ranger Point Precision's 1894 Extractor Claw: No Case Left Behind!
Recently, Houston, TX’s Ranger Point Precision reached out to me about a product they had been diligently developing for some time: an upgraded extractor claw for the Marlin 1894. The original Marlin 1894 extractor looks like a bobby pin, and works just about as well. Besides poorly made levers, the original extractor was the main cause of the “hitchy” feeling many 1894s have during the cycling of the action. Another side effect of the old extractors is they can fail entirely to extract cases. RPP’s new extractor fixes these problems with a whole new design. Filling the extractor channel completely, with an integral compression coil spring, these new extractors engage far more of the cartridge rim, and make cycling the action far faster, smoother and more reliable.
Lightning Review: Ranger Point Precision Medium Loop Lever Upgrade-A "Happy Medium" for Your Marlin
My pre-Freedom Group Marlin 1894 in .44 magnum is a super reliable, quick handling meat getter when it comes to wild boar. It is lightning quick out of a scabbard, slings and carries easily, and is overall a handy and dependable tool on the ranch , in my truck, or out in the wilderness. That being said, it had one serious shortcoming from the factory: the standard lever was far too small. I could only fit two of my fingers in the loop if I was wearing gloves of any sort. Ungloved, it was still like jamming 11 rounds into a 10 round magazine. Being that my 1894 is a firearm in pretty constant hunting/utility rotation, I decided to rectify the situation by swapping out the lever.
The Ranger Point Precision Lever Action Shotgun
The good people at Ranger Point Precision have been on quite the roll recently. As I contemplate one of their custom . 40S&W lever action carbines (yes, you heard that right), they have just announced the release of another gun from my growing wishlist: a Marlin .410 lever action shotgun. Born from a donated Marlin 336 in .30-30, the RPP scattergun is lighter and has more shell capacity than the official version released in 2004 that was built on a hefty 444 frame.
