Oliver Winchester is long dead and so is John Wayne, but lever guns are the hottest they’ve been in years. For proof, check out Rossi’s newest imports to the U.S. The R95 lineup is growing again, with new Triple Black and Laminate options in .45-70 chambering.

As manufacturers crank out lever-action rifles to the North American shooting market (see Hop’s thoughts on that here), eager buyers are discovering something: Old-school buckhorns aren’t exactly the easiest iron sights to master. Good news: XS Sights is here to help, and they’ve now turned their sights… errrr, they’ve just released updates for the Rossi R92 and R95 lever rifles.

In a bold move to push boundaries further, Rossi, a renowned firearms manufacturer, has unveiled its latest firearm – the R95 lever action rifle in .45-70 Government. This new addition to Rossi’s lineup comes after last year’s successful launch of the R95 in 30-30 Winchester, which was available in two different barrel lengths. Amping up its game, Rossi has now built upon its previous success with a powerful 45-70 variant.

Rossi surprised a lot of firearm owners when they announced at SHOT Show 2023 that they were back and with a vengeance (my words, not Rossi’s) by debuting new revolvers that looked reminiscent of something from Smith & Wesson and/or Dan Wesson from years past. They were gorgeous looking and by early reviewers from the interwebs and shmucks like me, they flat out perform. Now, Rossi is proud to announce that they are bringing some new lever-action rifles into their portfolio of ‘arms as well with the Rossi R95 .30-30 lever-action series.
