If you ask people what kind of magic gift they would like to have if they could have only one wish, some say they would like to be able to fly like a bird or breathe under water. Others will say they want to play the electric guitar like Yngwie Malmsteen, to be able to paint like Michelangelo or think like Albert Einstein. A few will say that they want to be invisible or to able to see in complete darkness. We all know all those wishes are impossible. Or are they? Pulsar might actually be able to help you with that last thing, and it’s within reach financially for most consumers. Their latest creation is called the Pulsar Krypton FXG50, and it’s a clip-on front attachment for the riflescope(s) that you already own.

Looking to transform your high-quality AR-platform or bolt-action rifle from being reasonably accurate to a precision instrument? Then the ultra-compact Schmidt & Bender 5-20×50 PM II Ultra Short might be the answer. This review is also another important piece in the puzzle in TFB’s quest of reviewing all of the PM II series of riflescopes made by the German company.

I would never really have considered the Schmidt & Bender 1.5-8×40 STRATOS, but as I was reviewing the Pulsar Krypton FXG50 thermal front attachment I was in need of a rifle scope with low-to-medium magnification, at least 42 mm front objective lens (for the Pulsar adapters to fit) and a reticle suitable for hunting.

We’re looking at a  Schmidt & Bender 3-27×56 PMII riflescope and the Pulsar Krypton FXG50 Thermal Clip-On. In terms of optics, and software applications, we seem to live in a Golden Era.

Do you remember when mobile phones became common and new models with even better performance were released faster than you could apprehend?  Thermal Imaging seems to be in a similar “zone” at the moment. A Golden era, which can be both good and challenging for the consumer.

Pulsar are having a very busy year, with releases like the Trail 2 LRF XQ50 and XP50 Thermal Riflescopes and the Axion XQ Series Thermal Spotters. Now it’s time for Pulsar’s first-ever Thermal Vision Front Attachment, the Pulsar KRYPTON FXG50.

Earlier this year we gave you a head’s up about the new upcoming products from Pulsar Thermal Imaging. Time flies and I’ve had the opportunity to examine and use both the Pulsar Accolade 2 LRF XP50 thermal binoculars and the Pulsar Trail 2 LRF XP50 thermal riflescope for a few months.
