POTD: Swedish Sniper with PSG 90B Rifle
The Swedish Army is looking for a New Multi-Caliber Sniper Weapon System, until then they are using the Accuracy International AI AW (PSG 90B) in 7.62×51 mm. The riflescope is usually a Schmidt & Bender 3-12×50 PMII. The Swedish rifle is the Arctic Warfare version of the British L96A1, and it was adopted in 1990. Above you can see a sniper from Sweden aiming downrange during European Best Sniper Team Competition at Hohenfels, Germany.
POTD: Swedish Home Guard with Ak4 and PSG90 B
Photo Of The Day and we have more great pictures of the Swedish Home Guard and U.S. Army Green Berets as they trained together in November last year. The Swedish Heckler & Koch G3 clone called Ak4 is easy to spot, with the Aimpoint CS red dot sights and upgrades from Spuhr. Did you also notice the PSG90 B Sniper Rifle on his back, the AI AW? If not, look again.
POTD: Swedish Paratroopers in Mud Bath
In 1952 the Swedish Parachute Ranger School was created. Today they host the Parachute Rangers and the Special Operations Group. As you can imagine the focus is to use small and specialized Ranger units which are capable of operating deep behind enemy lines and inside the enemy-controlled territory. Their motto is “Will, Courage and Perseverance”.

POTD: One of the First AI Arctic Warfare Sniper Rifles ever made
Today’s Photo Of The Day is a rare sight. Using the Accuracy International L96A1 as a base model, this is one of eight (1 of 8) of the first AI AW (Arctic Warfare) that were ever made. The AW models were improved to withstand colder conditions.
POTD: Team Sweden in Best Sniper Team Competition 2019
In 2018 Sweden won the European Best Sniper Team Competition. The team later came in at the third place overall at the 2018 International Sniper Competition in the USA.
