At this year’s SHOT Show EOTECH, in addition to their promising ‘On Gun Laser’, showcased their new flat dark earth colour range. The new FDE range includes G43 and G45 magnifiers and their EFLX pistol red dots.

The folks at Shield Sights often don’t get the recognition they deserve. People forget to give credit where it’s due, me included. Shield Sights spend time and money developing what is now the standard footprint for slimline pistol red dots. The company is best known for these small optics, but those crazy Brits have something else up their sleeves. With the continued growth of competition-based shooting sports, especially among women, it made sense for Shield Sights to aim their next dot at that market. The Shield Sights RMSx competition red dot is designed specifically for competitive shooters, featuring an 80% larger window, as well as a few other features. However, it still shares that familiar footprint, meaning it can still be mounted on smaller carry guns.

Holosun have announced the HE508T V2 red dot reflex optic, available with green or red reticles, has Shake Awake tech as standard and is rated for up to 50,000 hours of battery life and has a titanium housing. We got our first look at the HE508T V2 back at SHOT Show 2020. Last week Holosun announced their HM3XT Titanium 3x Magnifier which we also got a look at earlier this year.

I swung by Holosun’s Industry Range Day and SHOT Show Floor booths to take a look at and try out their newest products. Much of their pistol red dot optic line has undergone small revamps and the flagship products are their new HE509 and HE508 V2. Most of their revamped models now have a convenient side accessible battery tray.

SIG Sauer’s ROMEO1 pistol red dot reflex sight has been around for a few years now, but this week SIG announced it would be joined by the new ROMEO1PRO claiming a new level of reliability and durability. Available in black and FDE with SIG claim the new red dot has a 20,000-hour battery life with a new upgraded point-source emitter for increased brightness in day or night conditions.

Nikon showed off their brand new Spur Reflex Sight under their P-TACTICAL line of products at the 2018 SHOT SHOW. Their Spur Reflex Sight features multi-coated optics with an anti-reflective proprietary coating that Nikon calls “TRUCOLOR”, it helps minimize that blue look you get with some of the other reflex sights on the market. It also has unlimited eye relief, a wide 27x16mm field of view and 1x magnification. The Spur Reflex Sight has a 3 MOA dot and 10 brightness level settings with the first two being night vision compatible. Nikon claims 15,000 hours of continuous use from one battery.
